Yes agree for some reason I had a picture in my head of a tiny frail lady.

I did as well..picture her just the opposite. And had to dwell on that impression...cause it did not come from no where.... Confused me.

Unless..more people close to Robert will come forward with details... but why?

Clearly LE can track some information from the bank accounts. But not much. If fraud, can anything be taken back now.

The saddest part, for me, is still..... there seems to have never been anyone standing up for Mary.

This article says the friend says her death was from natural causes (at least that's what Robert must have said and was in line with whatever the friend observed at the time) and the report concluded her death was covered up for financial reasons. I doubt it was very important to the investigators to find conclusive evidence of the benefits fraud because they obviously couldn't charge Robert or anyone else. That's understandable. Robert was actually admitted to the hospital three weeks before the body was found, and only when it looked like he was near death did the friend speak up about Mary's body being in the chest freezer. Given Mary's health and age, you have to wonder if maybe Robert had the chest freezer ready and waiting if she died at home and he wanted to cover it up?

The friend's action are so questionable! This friend was held at gunpoint and he didn't go to the police? Stayed friends with the guy that hold him at gunpoint in order to hide a body?

What if that guy was taking the checks after Robert went in the hospital? Or even before, when dementia was setting in?
He could be in on the fraud as well!

I don’t know about this guy… what a convenient time to “black out”, and not remember how she got in the freezer! Also, he claims to have gone over to feed Mary everyday but at the end of the video he says he lives there and will have to find a new place to live? I definitely think he was involved more than he is letting on.

It sounds like the friend lived in another property owned by Robert Haxby. Maybe he thought it would set Robert off if he turned down his offer to live rent free in the other house (perhaps so he was nearby so he could help Robert?). Or he felt obligated? Unfortunately, with Robert deceased, the only version that's ever going to be told is the friend's version..I have just read the print articles so far. I only listened to the first few minutes but it sounds like he was saying that in spite of her great weight earlier, that Mary had eating issues related to her dementia and only weighed 98 pounds upon her death?

The interview with Robert’s friend was all over the place. He says that Mary was 400 pounds, but weighed 98 pounds when she died because she wasn’t eating due to Alzheimer’s/dementia. The article below contradicts that, though.

At some point, she’d signed everything over to Robert, which is how he was able to continue receiving her retirement benefits. The friend claims Mary had been getting around $10,000 a month between 4 benefit checks. That’s quite a bit of money and motive for wanting to conceal her death (natural or otherwise), IMO.

The way the friend describes things, it seems like both Mary and Robert were not mentally well and lived in very unsanitary conditions.

Sad, sad situation.

And…the friend knew fairly specific details about their financials, and apparently had access to their bank statements and the Zion property where Mary was discovered. I feel like Mary probably did die of natural causes, but maybe she wasn’t the only victim in this case. I wonder how long Robert had been unable to care for himself prior to his death.

I can understand why the attorney representing Robert’s family made this statement:

I forgot to add that even if Robert was still living, all that would be known is the friend's version because Robert had dementia and and then had the stroke.

Gruesome. It's very disturbing how he describes the position of the body when he saw Mary deceased and rigor mortis had set in. Why would she have been in that position?

Yikes, I never expected this video of him giving his side to be so bizarre. He makes himself sound very caring and helpful to both Mary, feeding her, and then Bob. So involved in their lives, and knowing details about their financial situation. Kept his mouth shut all those years whether he helped or not, but like he says now it doesn't look like he benefitted coming away with the house as his.

JMO, no way! A doctor? He says old timer's dementia, instead of Alzheimer's. No sleuthing him, but... He may have worked in the medical field, but I doubt he was a doctor. However, from what he says, he may have kept Bob alive, helping him and bringing him food, all the while getting to live in that house. Describing himself as a nice guy, but really, MOO, he was getting something out of it.

Mary died in 2013. Yet news reports say “Between 2013 and 2020, police responded to the home nearly 20 times for calls ranging from welfare checks to mental health situations to reports of elder abuse.”
So who was being abused in that house after Mary was dead? And who was doing the abusing? This “friend” hasnt mentioned it at all so it doesn’t sound like he was the abuse victim . And he came out with this story only when the exposure of Mary’s death and the financial shenanigans were imminent. I smell a rat.

It doesn't sound like a natural death or did he mean that her body had been moved into that position.

And did they both know how to check for signs of life.
I hope she wasn't still alive when she was put into the freezer.

I'm fairly certain he said in that interview that he'd written the date down someplace. Why? Who knows.
