6:00pm (Sunday) - Last call on cell phone to Tchu N****, friend and former boss (Postal Express, suisan City) who claims Phoung was distraught about financial situation.

I just searched articles for what the boss said was on Phuong's mind. In his video interview, he says it was giving out the flyers. Phuong's brother said the family friend/ex-boss said Phuong was upset about the flyers and 'a lot of things'. One reporter said upset about the flyers. And then one other reporter said distraught about her financial situation and not being able to find a job.

So it looks to me like the ex-boss was emphasizing the flyer fight rather than her financial/job situation.

Let me know if you want the links. I saved bookmarks in case anyone wanted them.

Anyone know if there are car rental companies in the area??? IONO, I just feel like she went away for a new life...Did any of her nursing friends get jobs out of state??? I feel she keeps alot from her family due to the controlling. I bet her cell phone was on a family plan.

Whoever she may be staying with most likely does not know she is considered missing.

Really hard for me to get a hunch about what happened here. It does kind of remind me of Donna O'Rielly. She was seen on surveillance video from inside the mall where she worked walking with her keys in her hand to her car in the parking lot. But she never made it too her car (unlike Phuong). It was a very baffling case but thankfully (even though it must have been a terrible ordeal for her) a little less than a month later she escaped from the house of man who had been keeping her captive, jumped into a courier van and was taken to safety.

Here is her thread:

Maybe so, but why leave everything behind except your keys?

I am going to throw this out there, but the missing keys could be habit and she chucked them later or she did not want the car to get stolen, or the keys were left. Someone could of walked by, grabbed them, and waited to steal the car later.

This young lady had never spent the night away from home, was always home by midnight. Had just graduated from nursing school and passed her boards.

Sorry, I don't see her walking away and leaving all her ID, her money and everything behind but taking the keys.

Was her ID in her wallet...I have not seen that specified.

Yes, her drivers license was in her wallet and her social security card the LE took from her room at her parent's house.
Rosie, do I still have Mr. Le with me? Mr. Le with us, the brother of missing Phuong Le. What did she leave at home? Did she leave anything, like a wallet, her driver`s license, anything at home, or was it all in the car?

LE: Everything was in the car except for her Social Security card and passport. Those were at home.

GRACE: OK, what exactly was left in the car?

LE: Her credit cards, her driver`s license, her books.

GRACE: What about her cell phone?

LE: Even her cell phone was also, yes.

She just spent at least 2 years in nursing school (some take non-nursing prereqs separately and stretch it to 3 years) and passed her boards (which requires fingerprint ID); she left all personal ID and SS card behind. IF she went away for a new life, she's thrown that all away and could never practice anywhere else... and would put her current license at risk.

It's possible, but IMO I doubt she'd do that. If she did leave on her own, my fear would be she's planning on harming herself, not looking to start another life somewhere else :(

I vision the tiff with sister to be something minor:

Okay, I've passed out fliers for your beauty shop for 3 hours, maybe now, you can help me find a job! A tiff between sistrs and I feel nothing major at all. moo

We know that Phuong is determined, intelligent, and will do what she needs to get things done. Getting self through nursing school is no minor task, neither is passing boards; Phuong doesn't give up easily! moo My guess is that she was very proud of herself for taking such a difficult road and making it. Can you be that depressed as to runaway and still pass boards?

IMO there is no way she ran away - she is sheltered, vulnerable, and easy going and NOT very street wise.moo LE need to look at all the receipts at B&N that evening and videos at the gym.

I imagine her family is in pain not having their beloved daughter, sister, at home on her birthday. I feel so sorry for the family!

Just catching up on this case and I am very concerned about Phuong. I do not see this as a runaway situation at all. She sounds very close to her family; in addition, within Asian cultures family is incredibly important and members are usually very close and live in close proximity. Unless she had some kind of a mental 'break' I do not think Phuong left on her own.

It sounds like she was stressed out and probably feeling vulnerable and not her 'usual self' - unfortunately, this is what attracts predators - someone feeling out of sorts, vulnerable, less likely to be paying attention to their surroundings than usual, maybe they have their guard down. I just hope Phuong didn't run into one of these.

I can't believe that with all of those businesses around there are no cameras showing the parking lot of Barnes and Noble. It sounds like the area is full of big box/chain type stores. Don't those sorts of businesses all have interior and exterior cameras?

I am usually that last person to think a disappearance is a stranger abduction because the numbers simply don't add up; it is almost always someone the person knows. But this case does feel different to me. It almost sounds like a classic abduction, if there is such a thing. The only thing that holds me back is her apparent distress over so many things in her life, which seemed to affect her in very obvious way, everyone knew she was upset and needed to "cool down." That could be a coincidence but seems odd that she would be so upset often enough that her brother said she often went there or to the gym to "cool down." Does not sound like a harmonious home to me.

PS- We have seen so many times when a family member goes missing that they left the house after an argument to cool off...I wonder if it is known for sure SHE was at B&N to park the car there? Just wondering...

Has LE stated there were no cameras ? That's a bit confusing to me.

The call at 6 was from her cell phone. No time has been specified/determined for when her belongings were put in the trunk. We don't know for sure if it was Phuong who put the items in the trunk.
