It is interesting, at least. If that road is the most logical route out of town to a secluded place to dump a body, then the fact that her school is also on that road may be just a coincidence. But if she were seeing someone while she was still in school there, who later turned out to be the perp, it might have been somehow sentimental/logical/automatic in his mind to head in that direction.

I agree, that's a good possibility. Especially if she were still unharmed at that point. KWIM? Something/an experience they both shared.

I hope this link to map works.
Its a map from Barnes & Noble to the intersection of Wooden Valley Road and Monticello Road which is near the location of where at least one of the reports says the body was found.
It does not go particularly near the College. It does goes near the Rancho Solano area.

Grrrr! Where is all the surveillance camera footage?? Looking at this map and all the commerce in the area, I can't understand why we're not hearing anything at all about video!

Even possibly a road where a couple might have taken rides on occasion, to be alone together.

The problem with surv. video is very few of the cameras are pointed at the street and/or parking lots. They cover the entrances and exits of the stores/buildings and that's it. We were hoping for that in a recent case and found out that they provided nothing for us because of where they are pointing.

Do you have to be fingerprinted in the nursing process? If you do, then they obviously were not able to id her by prints as those can be done quickly. Weird. Or they're holding it back????

Exactly. A place they might have gone that night to talk about something she was upset about.

Thanks ~ and from looking at the map, it seems she could've been dropped off practically anywhere between the two places, so I still think that particular area had some significance, either to the perp, Phuong or both of them. MOO

I was wondering that too. We've got lots of places in my neck of the woods where you can go to see the city lights, kids go to fool around, etc. I wonder if there are spots on that road like that? Going to put in a call to a friend that lives off that road to see.

Has LE ever held back the ID of a body for a time to observe the behavior of POI? Kind of like, "We've got a body...let's see how POI acts over the next 24 hours." ???

To me, that would mean the perp is an unknown confidante who she happened to run across that evening or talked to earlier that day (after passing out the flyers and being upset) or the last person she spoke with on the phone. MOO

I can't cite any examples, but I wouldn't doubt it. I think her family already has enough information that they cancelled the search, and the public doesn't need to know everything yet especially since it's never really been something LE believed put everyone in danger. MOO

Agreed. Unknown to everyone else but her. And that doesn't necessarily mean her family and friends didn't know this person, but may not have known he served as a confidante.

I agree with that, too. LE doesn't seem to be giving the impression the public is in any immediate danger. That sense of urgency that usually goes along with "there's a killer among us" is missing. Makes me think LE views this as an isolated incident (is that the term I'm looking for?).

Isolated incident is close enough, imo! Not a random crime but someone she knew. MOO

I wonder why the spat with her sister over fliers upset her so much?

I think it's amusing someone would draw suspicion to themselves in a forum created for suspicion. You remember the person earlier in this case who was harrassing Phuong's family via text message? They arrested that person within 24 hours and brought him up on charges. Any history of harassment on the WS site that culminated in an arrest?

Interesting. Now, where was I on my theory that the perp might be someone who Phuong knew from school??? :waitasec:

I hope the media thing is a rumor - if not, they should be ashamed of themselves. :furious:

Could they be fired for that? Get in trouble with LE?

And I wonder if they taped it? I mean ... did they do this for publicity ... or in private?

Gosh .... I hope private!

I am thinking media called the house for comment on the body found...the family said they had not been informed of it...and media agreed to take them out there, if they did in fact take them...

And whoever made the call was surely aware of the very, very real possibility the family didn't know about it yet. And I have to ask...WHY would they do that unless they were to gain from it somehow? An exclusive interview? The scoop?

No matter how you slice it, the journalist did not have the family's best interest in mind. I could only hope it was a rookie and not a seasoned journalist.

At the very least, the journalist should take personal responsibility and make a public apology. I know that's not likely, but it sure would be a nice gesture.
