LE should of notified the family.

Right and to get to Napa, the driver would have to cross the bridge to Vallejo. Seems the wanted to make it look random. But I don't buy it either. "Random killers don't go to the effort of hiding bodies"...as far as clothed, I bet she was. IMO

I don't agree that random killers don't hide bodies. We've seen it too often. Just recently John Gardner hid the bodies of Chelsea King and Amber Dubois, who he abducted and murdered. TN is obviously a likely perp but I wouldn't be shocked if it were a stranger.

I can't imagine her clothes becoming unrecognizable (excuse spelling) in this amount of time. There have been cases when years had passed and LE could still see the print on a blouse, for example, and the weather, while not ideal, was not horrible either. (I hope she had her clothes on...we don't know that for sure, do we?)

Somehow I am still on the side of this not being TN...I think if he seems to be coming across badly, it could be a nationality thing, to some extent, or simply that he is not an outspoken man. Not wanting to talk to media is intelligent...as long as he is talking to LE whenever they want to and so far, this seems to be the case. I just hate to think anyone Phoung loved/liked and trusted would do this to her...although of course, statistics tell us exactly this.

My whole point about the clothes is we don't know one way or another! I just find it odd that nothing's been mentioned, unless of course, LE wants to withhold that information for some reason.

I'm not convinced TN has any involvement until I see more pointing in his direction. It's still possible, imo, that someone she knew could've been watching her at the bookstore. Also, I don't remember it being mentioned what type of vehicle TN owns or would've had access to that night, and now that we know it would've required one to dispose of her body, I'd think LE would've gotten a s/w for it if he were a POI. MOO

NG: Sheeba (caller) wants to know how long PL has known TN and could he have molested her. RH is bringing up that TN has denied ever being a "boyfriend". Pam H wants to know more about why PL was upset and had to leave the house to cool off. SM believes she was killed by someone she knew. poor Phuong! What a horrible ending to this! Our profession has truly lost a blossoming flower and her family a star in their universe.

It sounds like LE is on leads that they consider very viable. I hope they can throw it where it sticks and bring the person down who did this.

I'm not seeing that Phuong's body was "hidden" either. Yes, it was 40-50 yds. (according to most reports) off the side of a road, but I haven't heard anything about her being buried or covered in any manner. I still think it's possible the perp chose this location because it was within his comfort zone, maybe thinking she wouldn't be found for some time. MOO

I think perhaps the media knows how LE can keep family in the dark and let them in on tip they had received.

As far as I recall, sexual assault wasn't really brought up. They were mainly talking about possible COD, such as gunshot, stabbing, strangulation and the like.

Now as for TN's wife, nothing has been said about her either. And honestly, back when he first mentioned this neighborhood surveillance video proving he hadn't left home, I wondered why he never said what is most commonly said, such as "I was home with my wife and kids". Instead his alibi is the video, so I agree, where was she? MOO

That is a very good point about TN's vehicles...have we heard of any search warrants for them? If not, I would think that they will be coming soon, or that they are not considering him a POI. Of course the perp had to have a vehicle, IMO.

Also and I will be careful not to get in trouble here, but NG said a few things tonight that she acted as though they were facts...we do not know cause of death, she suggested strangulation and her panel jumped on it. And she said that random killers don't hide bodies, which we know is not true (whether or not Phoung was considered hidden is up for debate) and her panel agreed. So right there they have indicated two things that have no basis in fact at this time...only saying this so that anyone who did not see her show knows that these things were discussed, not proven.

I agree. I hope they find the POI though, a random suspect seems clearly brazen being that one witness mentioned the evening at the mall that night was especially warm and verified that many people were milling about.

No, I know she didn't...but if you just came in on the show and heard parts of it, it seemed as though they had agreed she was strangled and that it must be someone she knows...so I was just saying that those things have not been released...just discussed as possibilities...no more reason to think that was cause of death than any other, in my opinion...

Would her clothes have been intact and recognizable though, considering the effects of bio decomp? Jewelry -- I would think -- wouldn't have been all that affected by bio decomp over a period of two weeks, so jewelry would've been much more identifiable, you think? Perhaps her clothes might not have been in any kind of shape to recognize? (I honestly wouldn't know...just throwing out these questions.)

This is a minor thing, but it's bugging me no end! NG keeps calling the bookstore Barnes & Noble's :banghead: I've never heard anyone, anywhere add an "s" to Noble, but NG continues to do this each time the case is featured on her show.

Like I said, a minor thing, but it's getting to me.
