I think the car accelerated? or maybe it just looked that way to me
It looked that way to me too. It looked almost like it was on purpose. No attempt to slow down or turn the wheel the other way...RIP Ms. Sinclar

Months-old mystery solved: Driver identified in video of SUV sailing off Highway 1 cliff

SAN MATEO COUNTY – Five months after a dark green Lexus SUV was caught on camera hurtling over a cliff south of Gray Whale Cove in San Mateo County, authorities have finally identified the person they believe who was behind the wheel of the vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol on Wednesday said the driver was San Francisco resident Tracey Ivori Sinclair.

Thank you so much for posting this @Steph8angels! I am so glad this was solved. It was just crazy how it remained unsolved for so long. Thank you so much for the update!

She has Linked in profile. Describes self as "
C-Level Executive Hiring C-Level Executives" with a Title of "Recruiting Solutions Architect". She went to UC Davis and holds a Bachelors in Biological and Physical Sciences. Seemed like a very high-functioning and hardworking lady. RIP Tracey!

I hope this is allowed. I will report to mods just to be sure. :)

I wondered if she might have fallen asleep. Maybe woke up for a few seconds but too disoriented to react, seeing just sky and ocean in front of her. There was a google earth view of the highway, that one could follow it along. It had a curve, but the angle made it seem possible. Just horrific no matter what. RIP Tracey Sinclair and condolences to her family.

There are also cases where somebody panics and hits the gas when they mean to hit the brake. One near here last summer, where fortunately they landed in somebody's swimming pool rather than the ocean.

Condolences to Ms. Sinclair's family.

Hi @drama_farmer... I am unfortunatly not on Facebook. I keep getting tempted to sign up again. If you have a moment, would you PM me a quick synopsis? If not, don't worry. I would love to see any indication that this was not suicide. Driving off a cliff can be such a common plan. I am in Colorado so people contemplate driving off a mountain...:(

What ever Tracey believed in matter's not. I do hope she found whatever light she was searching for.

My condolences to her family and loved ones.
Great investigation on the part of LE on finding the identity of the victim. (Crash)
Shout out to the person who took the video. You helped tremendously.
Tracey's life mattered no matter what her beliefs were.
Maybe she stumbled apon something scientific that she allowed to cause unnatural thoughts.
A lot of crazy things we can't explain. JMO

Wow, how sad. I will be honest, I couldn’t get through her long posts, but her replies in the comments give a good TLDR summary of her thoughts/beliefs.

My friend from college was hit by a car a few years back and now suffers from TBI (amongst other permanent injuries and conditions). When I was scrolling through traceys Facebook page, it was as if I was looking at my college friends page. Their posts/beliefs are eerily similar.

RIP Tracey

Oh wow, I really thought this mystery would remain unsolved. Although of course we don't know for sure what happened, it did seem to me like it was very purposeful. I hope Tracey found the peace that she was perhaps looking for. Condolences to her friends and family.

Yes, i was very surprised. Didn't expect that.... We just really don't know what happened that day and never will. But at least she is no longer lost and there is some closure for her family. I also hope that she is at peace and surrounded by light! RIP Tracey!

Very true @Steph8angels and very well said! We will very likely never know what happened that day, but, just like you said, the victim has a identity now and is no longer lost. RIP Tracey!
