This is an updated article stating that the car has been located but LE is still looking for Holmes and PR. So it sounds like he may have ditched the car, owned, stolen or has access to another vehicle, and is on the run. I'm so worried for this baby girl!!

Officials initially released an alert looking for a specific car, but the brown BMW that had been sought has been found, Fender said.

He said Holmes and the baby's mother knew each other but provided no further details.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Holmes or the girl is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station at 661-948-8466.

A brown BMW belonging to a man suspected of abducting a 13-month-old girl near Lancaster was recovered Saturday afternoon.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lancaster Station said Holmes is also suspected of sexually assaulting the girl's mother and then leaving her alone in the desert.

After the suspected assault, he went back to the Motel 6, located at 407 West Palmdale Blvd., where the pair were sharing a room and abducted the woman's daughter.

I wish someone would release a picture of the perp or the sweet little one. Now that we don't have a vehicle to look for, identifying the people is all the public has to go on...................

Officers were simultaneously working an “Amber Alert Incident” at the interchange of the Harbor (110) and Redondo Beach (91) freeways near Torrance but they could not confirm if the incidents were related.

I saw a picture of a little girl in someones comment of facebook. I thought the child looked older than 13 months....but I could be wrong. She a cutie if it's her.

This is terrible so many innocent toddlers and children missing. Praying he comes to his senses and doesn't harm PR. Her mum must be worried sick and going through hell after being assaulted too.

The mother of the baby, identified as PR, said a man assaulted her and then took her into the desert and left her there, said sheriff’s Lt. Joseph Fender. The mother told authorities she last saw PR at the motel about 3 a.m. Saturday. He said Holmes and the baby's mother knew each other but provided no further details.

Holmes then allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and took her to an area near 230th Street East and Avenue J (map) in Lake Los Angeles, Sheriff’s Lt. Joseph Fender said.

The woman was assaulted in the desert and was able to make her way to a location where residents rescue horses, a sheriff’s deputy at the scene said. The mother was naked and officials were searching the area for her clothing.

The mother reported between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m. from the Lake Los Angeles area that she had been assaulted and her daughter kidnapped. Fender said officials were working to determine why the crimes had not been reported sooner.

Hours after an Amber Alert was issued when a 13-month-old girl was allegedly abducted after her mother was sexually assaulted in the Antelope Valley, the alert was canceled when officials located the girl and detained two men, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster station.

It was not known where the toddler was found or who was arrested, Deputy Joshua Stamseck said around 3:50 p.m. Additional information was expected to be provided in the next hour.
