I can't find Mr. Reid in the 1930 or 1940 census despite his reported birth year being 1929. Perhaps someone else will have more luck?

I tried to go by his parents' names - mother's name of Luff and assumed father's name of Reid. Nothing concrete, but I did come across these records for the death of a Canadian child that made me do some further digging. Unfortunately, this couple does have descendants that list family trees online and there is no mention of them having a child named Percival.

I thought it was an interesting coincidence that the time range was right, the father's name was so similar, and the mother's maiden name matched the California Death Index record.
