Santa Cruz County sheriff's officials are seeking the public's help in locating a missing man.

According to sheriff's officials, Rene Delatorre left his home in Watsonville around 1 a.m. on Friday and has not been seen since.

Delatorre's 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck was located at the Moss Landing Harbor, sheriff's officials said.

I wonder why the police are involved so quickly; signs of foul play?
A man disappearing for a few days rarely makes news unless there are suspicious circumstances?

Perhaps they are seeking him for some reason?

Monterey County Sheriff's Office told*KION the body pulled from the waters off of Moss Landing Harbor has been identified as 44-year-old Rene Delatorre of Santa Cruz County.

No cause of death has been determined, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday. No word yet how long he had been in the water.
