Police are asking the public’s help in locating a 47-year-old man reported missing in the south Sacramento area after recently undergoing surgery.

Richard Cortez was last seen about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 3900 block of Mack Road and may be heading to the Fruitridge/Stockton Boulevard area. Police warned in a Facebook post that he may be acting irrationally due to the recent surgery.

Cortez was described as Hispanic, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, with a thin build. Part of his head is shaved and he has surgical staples in his head, according to police. He also was shirtless.

Police were unable to provide a photo of Cortez.

Last seen on foot in the area of 3900 Block of Mack Rd.

Yikes! I hope someone sees him and calls LE. I know no pic but shirtless with staples in his head.

I wonder if he left the hospital or was discharged and was home recovering.

17-271373 (Missing Person): 3900 block of Mack Rd at 1709 hours.

A male subject was released from the hospital yesterday following a surgery. Per his family, he hasn't been acting normally and left the apartment on foot around 12:30 p.m. He is known to frequent Stockton/Fruitridge. He is 5'4 inches tall with half of his head shaved. He was wearing no shirt when he left. Information was shared on the Department’s social media forums.

The rivers (American and Sac) aren't close to Mack road/meadowview. He could have gone over there before disappearing though.

Richard does not seem to be listed on the California AG's missing persons list: Missing Person Search

I can't find any updates on whether he was found.
