He could have known her, or appeared to look harmless, or trustworthy
Perhaps all of the above; perhaps he also knew Cindy Mellin and appeared harmless and trustworthy to her as well.

was Robin's abandoned car dusted for prints?
In one of the articles about Robin's case it states her father accidentally hosed her car while gardening before the police had a chance to fingerprint it.
It surprises me , too, that the car was not processed by police. As in all too many cases back then, it seems foul play was not suspected at first.Good point. I wouldn't have thought so but it didn't give further details. I'm surprised the car was brought back before the police had time to fingerprint it, but I suppose in the early hours there was still hope Robin would return, and so it wasn't considered crime scene evidence.
This guy is a really good suspect he grew up in this area. http://zodiackiller.fr.yuku.com/topic/7415/Victor-Floyd-Wild#.VaJbGzVRE5s

This is really interesting; creepy but so interesting. I've never heard of this guy before.

They are still waitng for a break in the case and have kept their same address and phone number since 1970!
