So, my initial thought is that someone sought him out via one of his modeling sites, maybe lured him for a photo shoot or acting gig...

This is like a horror movie.

Might be worth checking out craigslist too during that time...yikes.

A skilled physician would have to be involved in this, if it is organs for sale.

In this news article it's reported that:"24-year-old Ryan Singleton left metro Atlanta in early July to chase his dream of becoming an actor or model in Hollywood."

http://www.myfoxla.com/story/237515...nd-in-california-missing-organs#ixzz2iSUyopxQ

Ryan is a very good looking young man. I wonder if he was lured out there for the purpose of killing him and removing and selling his organs, or once he went out there, he could have met with nefarious types that targeted him for his eyes and organs? I really hope that this case is not one that will be left to languish and go cold. There's just too much here that is so sinister. I don't believe this was all due to animal activity either. Other than his missing organs his body is reported to be mostly intact.

"Ms. Flowers says she was told the body was mostly intact but she has questions about what happened.

Flowers said, "I don't know of an animal that comes to a body and just picks out certain parts of the body. I don't think it was animal activity at all."

Also Ryan went to several places:"24-year-old Ryan Singleton left metro Atlanta in early July to chase his dream of becoming an actor or model in Hollywood.

Instead of dreams coming true, his mother is now living a nightmare, wondering about her son whose body turned up near one of the most inhospitable places on earth in Death Valley, California.

Iris Flowers told FOX 5'S George Franco, "He (her son) went to Las Vegas during a weekend visit and got missing in Baker, California on the way back.

Ms. Flowers learned joggers discovered Singletons' body on September 21st in the desert near Baker, California, between Las Vegas and Los Angeles."

And:"Ms. Flowers says Singleton left Atlanta in early July, traveled to Los Angeles in a rented car and drove to New Mexico, Arizona and Las Vegas.

She was told his car was found in the Death Valley desert a few miles from Baker. He was last seen at a gas station in Baker in July.

Singleton's body was discovered a month later."

My heart goes out to Iris Flowers and Ryan's loved ones. I really hope that all the questions surrounding whatever happened to Ryan Singleton are answered.

New Mexico, Arizona and Las Vegas...

I want to note that many organs were removed, not just one. Sounds organized, for profit, not necessarily because a loved one needed a transplant.

This is too much. Don't know if I can go here. Poor Ryan! And his mother! This is so terrible! Who did this?! Not sure if this will be the first or last case like this...

Slightly o/t, fwiw:

"During an autopsy, internal organs are removed and examined before being returned for burial. But when Dr. Bill Anderson, the private pathologist who conducted the second autopsy, opened up the teen's remains, the brain, heart, lungs, liver and other viscera were missing. Every organ from the pelvis to the skull was gone.
"I'm not sure at this point who did not return the organs to the body," Anderson said. "But I know when we got the body, the organs were not there."
Two entities had custody of Kendrick Johnson's body after his death -- the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which conducted the first autopsy in January; and the Harrington Funeral Home in Valdosta, which handled the teen's embalming and burial."

Some other options to consider in addition to possible organ trafficking:

-cult activity / sacrifice

-serial killer (haven't some past serials removed the organs?)

*There are many questions I have that I will probably never know the answer to, like how skillful the surgical procedures were, etc.

This case is huge imo and has a lot of angles / dimensions.

Sorry for the multiple posts; apparently I'm not the only one who is chicken here since I'm one of the few posting, lol!!!!!

I will be thinking about Ryan's case all day (and longer), I'm sure. I really hope we get more information in this case.

Thanks (I think) for the thread, tarabull.

It doesn't say the intestinal organs were missing just ones that would be used in organ transplants.. An animal will not leave the intestines. They'll leave nothing but skeletal remains.. I've seen the grizzlies and wolves and birds eating carcasses at yellowstone.. Not much left when they're done.. Le should be able to tell easily if a skilled surgeon did this or not.

I wonder what his blood type was. Anything rare?

"The main brokers of organs tend to be local organized crime groups and corrupt officials on the local level and doctors, independent transplant coordinators and transnational organized crime syndicates on the international stage."

"The task of investigating and combating organ and tissue trafficking instead has fallen on organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO), which plans to create a coding system to track human tissue traded for transplants."

Connection to Mexico (proximity to border)? They would have to have adequate preservation utilities to ship / fly the organs far overseas (China, etc.) This whole thing is so disturbing.

"While you might think of "smuggling" as nothing but booze and maybe marijuana, the reality is that this part of the border had trafficking in drugs, sex slaves, and even human organs."

South America...
