Case History
According to a witness the victim appeared to be walking directly into the traffic going southbound on Stockton Boulevard near Bond and Sheldon Roads. She was struck by a vehicle and died of the injuries.

Maybe the box belonged to her son or grandson? Maybe she felt guilty about having to be away from him and kept it to remember him by?

Just doesn't seem like the kind of thing a woman this age and "style" would have for herself.

Her jeans were Chermin de Fer, based out of Los Angeles, went defunct in 1985. Example of one of their jeans typical of the 80's (not the ones found with UP):

If UP was chronically ill she could have had Melanoma? Which may explain the spots on her face and her thin stature. If not it could be just liver spots. Considering how tan UP was it could be inferred that she was native to the Central Valley.
