He killed and dismembered three people and threw them away like garbage, it isn't a stretch he'd kill his kids on the way out of the country.

Because family annihilators generally see their families as extentions of themselves, and their ego can't handle the concept of them existing beyond themselves. So rather than quietly exiting stage left, they destroy everything and everyone and then destroy themselves last of all.

There are few kinds of killers who make me angrier, because it's like the ultimate act of narcissism. It's this godlike headspace where they determine existence for their entire family, and there are never, ever reasons that aren't completely revolving around the annihilator's inflated sense of their own importance. (I am not including genuine cases of things like post partum psychosis, here.)
Chris Watts is textbook, despite being of the non-suicidal variant.

Didn’t see this coming, either. I thought he would be too much of a narcissist to do that.
Perhaps he spent enough time in jail to sober up and be free of drugs to fully feel the emotional impact of what he had done.
