Wow. Check out this comment from a reader of the OC Register:

Can't help but wonder if his fiance is an accessory suspect. She replied to a wall post from the female victim 1 hour before her murder. This was the first post she did in almost a month. Seems weird she wouldn't post anything for a month, then all of a sudden, she does, and the receiver dies an hour later. Where did she post that comment from? Did she live with Dan? Anyone know?

Since we know Dan was using Sam's phone to contact Julie, it might be that he had the password or whatever one might need to access Rachel Buffet's Facebook account, and posted the response? Can't see Julie's Facebook Wall, so don't know what to make of it.

Rachel recently posted that: "Rachel is no longer listed as "engaged.""

Hmmmm. Maybe Rachel didn't even know that she herself was friends with Julie? Is that a possibility? Maybe Dan made Julie a friend of hers?

A 26-year-old-man who was arrested on suspicion of killing two people, one of whom was dismembered, is back in jail after being released from the hospital, Costa Mesa police said.

Daniel Patrick Wozniak was hospitalized for a head injury he inflicted on himself, Sgt. Patrick Wessel said Sunday. He went back to jail Saturday. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Wozniak was arrested Wednesday night at a Huntington Beach restaurant and charged Friday with two felony counts of special circumstances murder in the deaths of Samuel Eliezer Herr, 26, of Costa Mesa and Juri "Julie" Kibuishi, 23, of Irvine, police said.

Police: Search turns up head of slain Calif. man
By ANDREW DALTON (AP)

"Two other people, Daniel Wozniak's brother Timothy Wozniak and Buffet's brother Noah Buffet, were arrested for investigation of being accessories after the fact. However, Everett (Detective Sgt. Ed Everett) said Sunday authorities have since determined neither was involved with the case, and he said neither is expected to be charged."

SANTA ANA – An actor accused of slaying two people, one of whom he allegedly dismembered, was attending his bachelor party the night he was arrested, a county prosecutor said Tuesday.

Daniel Patrick Wozniak, 26, of Costa Mesa appeared before a judge on two felony counts of murder Tuesday morning. His arraignment did not go forward, but was postponed until June 25. Wozniak was assigned a lawyer from the Orange County Public Defender's office, and will be held without bail at Orange County Jail until that next hearing.

Orange County Superior Court Judge Stephanie George noted that Wozniak was on probation at the time of the slayings. Court records show Wozniak pleaded guilty in September 2009 to a misdemeanor count of driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding .08.

Wozniak is charged with two felony counts of special circumstances murder. The special circumstance sentencing enhancements include multiple murders, murder for financial gain, and the personal discharge of a firearm causing death, prosecutors said.

The special circumstances mean prosecutors could seek the death penalty against Wozniak, who at a minimum faces life in prison without parole if convicted.

The police have been searching El Dorado Park, specifically the Nature Center, which is a favorite spot for school field trips. Just a few minutes ago it was reported that a human hand and arm were found in the park. They are still looking for the head of the victim.

I live just a few miles from this park. Just awful news...

I live a short distance from El Dorado... I was going to practice archery the day they were searching but it was shut down.

Horrible news.

Orange County prosecutors said Thursday they will seek the death penalty against a stage actor arrested in the bizarre double slaying of an Army veteran and a female friend.

Daniel Wozniak, 26, of Costa Mesa allegedly killed Samuel Herr, 26, of Costa Mesa and later shot Juri "Julie" Kibuishi, 23, of Irvine to make it appear that Herr was the killer, authorities said.

Wozniak was arrested May 26 during his bachelor party at a Huntington Beach sushi restaurant.

"Some murders are committed with such a depraved heart and in such a callous manner that the only punishment that fits the crime is the death penalty," Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas said Thursday.

Wozniak was finally arraigned on July 19. Two counts of murder with special circumstances, as well as other charges. He pled not guilty. The DA is seeking the death penalty in this case. He remains jailed without bail.

I did a search on the Orange County Superior Court site, and found that a "pre hearing" (preliminary hearing?) is scheduled for February 25, 2011.

This case is moving slowly along, as most death penalty cases do in California. Some sort of pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 13, 2011:

Wozniak, Daniel
case number: 10HF0920

Unless he pleads guilty, I'm guessing a very long wait for this to come to trial.

This one has me...:furious:

http://www.ocweekly.com/2011-06-02/news/moxley-confidential-daniel-wozniak-samuel-herr/

The actor and double-murder defendant's appearance on MSNBC's 'Lockup' has one victim's dad crying foul

A freshly groomed 6-foot-2-inch Daniel Patrick Wozniak smiles tenderly into a television camera and utters what could have been a personal greeting for a video-dating ad. "I'm easygoing," says Wozniak, 28. "I enjoy long walks on the beach."

Orange County's most infamous professional actor adds with an even bigger smile and a disarming chuckle, "I'm an Aries."

There's no hint of anger or madness in Wozniak's presentation. If it weren't for the stark institutional backdrop and his orange smock, you might assume he's a funny, harmless guy.

"I just want people to know that no matter what, throughout all of this, I'm really a good guy," he continues during an episode of MSNBC's Lockup: Extended Stay Orange County Jail. "Almost everyone in my life will say so."

The "this" Wozniak cited is a double murder that included the gruesome decapitation and dismemberment of Samuel Herr, a 26-year-old former U.S. Army soldier who served in combat in Afghanistan before enrolling at Orange Coast College.

OMGosh - I just caught wind of this case (I'm a Southern Californian). I just can't get beyond the horror of this case. All for what? Money? How do you dismember someone, shoot someone, all for money for a honeymoon. The thought (for any reason) makes me want to hurl.

The Inmate obviously is a psychopath based upon his sweet and sincere appearance on Lockup.

CREEPER!!!!

MOO
