Found Deceased CA - Samantha "Sam" Tomlinson, 37, Vanished on trip to Costco store, Fresno, 3 Dec 2021

It'd be nice if they could tell us what direction she was going.
I haven't read the article above in detail, but if she was headed towards Millerton Lake, she'd be going north on hwy 41. Blackstone becomes 41 as you head north.

Millerton Lake is a popular place during the summer months. Lots of boating...

imo
The Costco she was at is a very busy place!
Cars coming and going from all directions.

Blackstone and Herndon is a highly travelled intersection.

If she continued to travel north on Herndon, she'd be going towards the foothills.

ETA...and as someone stated earlier, the rain is here. Snow possibly in the mountains. And, it's very cold.

Correction.....this should say if she continued to travel north on BLAckstone...she'd be going towards the foothills.

Thanks.

ETA>>>>this post seems to be duplicating a previous post too....weird.

***No, there is no bodies of water on the way. A casino, but no water 'till the lake.

I've been concerned there was an accident as well. I just can't get that thought out of my mind.

A hiking trip to the Sierras and an accident were my original thought as well. However now I'm not so sure. She told her roommate that she would return from Costco shortly. And her Mother indicated that all her hiking gear was left at home and that she usually took her dog with her when hiking. What do we know about her love life? Is there an abusive boyfriend in the picture? Or could this be a random carjacking/kidnapping? I really hope she is found soon. Seems like a wonderful person. MOO

I wonder if she was meeting up with a new friend or someone she met online after she left Costco. And hadn't told anyone about them yet for whatever reasons.

“According to Lt. Papaleo, police have two separate security videos that show Samantha on the day she went missing – December 3, 2021. After leaving her home in Fresno, Samantha is shown on video meeting up with an unidentified person she met on the OfferUp app to sell a weight set. Lieutenant Papaleo confirmed that the transaction went smoothly.
In the second security video, Samantha makes it to her next stop, the Costco on Blackstone at Herndon in Fresno. She is seen on camera checking out and leaving the parking lot in her 2002 Silver Honda Civic with California license plates: 6YQB398.”

Search continues for missing woman who vanished after trip to a Costco in Fresno, California

*Edit due to double post.

I wonder is she sold the weights and returned something as there was a need for money…
It sounds as though she had a nice job, not sure of the salary. My opinions.

its been awhile, but i used to take friant road to millerton. they may have extended 41 by now tho.

I wonder if she has been selling a lot of stuff lately? Christmas is a good time to sell things like weight sets. IMO. Not sure what to make of this. Accident is the only thing that would make sense with the info we have. IMO

Looks like a fair amount of locals have been searching areas Sam is known to go to in the Sierras. Others who know her have said no bf. Someone is putting together a mapping system, so people know what areas have been searched. Sounds like some good team work going on.

Most are worried because they say she would never leave her dog at home alone.

I agree, from what we've heard, she loves her dog and even if she was facing challenges, I can't see her leaving her dog in the crate. IMO this is some kind of accident, cliff or ?

As you drive north, you're just approaching foothills. There are no cliffs. No bodies of water.
There are passing lanes, to get past the slower moving vehicles. Speed limit is 55.

Unless someone pushed her off the road. Road rage?

But, I would think someone would see her car on the side of the road.....

First she needs to be found. It appears she doesn’t want to be found. If this is not an accident then self-harm comes to mind.

Dog left in the crate. Did not return. No usage of credit cards. Walk away??

I still haven’t seen a single missing flyer around town. I did read that her car was last caught on camera at Friant and Ft. Washington. If true, that means she was driving up to the Millerton Lake area as she had already passed the 41 on ramps. I guess she could feasibly have taken a longer route to the 41 or the 168 into the mountains that way. It’s strange. I think she had an accident somewhere and just hasn’t been found. I hope her friends are driving those roads carefully looking for areas the car could be.

We had a case several years ago up in Roseville where a kid disappeared one night on his way home from hanging out with friends. Caltrans workers ended up finding him off the side of I80 past some thick bushes near an off ramp about a week later. The vegetation hid his car and any sign of an accident. It was heartbreaking for the family and friends but at least they found him.

This video is from 2016 of Samantha being interviewed about her K-9 Soya.

Another video with Samantha and Soya from March last year.

Meet the Dog Who's Saving the World's Fruits and Vegetables

Oh my goodness what wonderful work Samantha and Soya do!

This is really heartbreaking, I hope that she is found, but it is really puzzling as to what could've happened. I was thinking accident as well. I know that there have been many cases where people do very ordinary things before committing self harm, but I just don't see it here.

Has anyone checked the River Park area. It's a big shopping center north of Costco on Blackstone. I wonder if may be she decided to go shopping there after possible getting some cash back after she returned the item at Costco.

Her car could be abandoned in one of the parking lots.

I was in the area at that time. Lots of people out shopping. I was at Kohl's which is about a mile away. And, River Park is always busy.

I was there yesterday but didn’t see her car. I’ve been watching out for it. I didn’t check all the parking lots though. I’m sure security would call in a car that’s been parked there for multiple days and nights. Or at least I hope they would.

Anything new? I don't have Facebook, has anyone seen any updates?

I just looked at their FB 'Bring Sam Home' page, and there's really not too much that's new being posted.

Some one has put together a map of the places where flyers have been distributed, and locations of where they have physically checked.

ie: Kings Canyon National Park, up above Shaver...and a couple of other places.
