He is an “unknown white man,” “about 38,” and was found dead “about” March 23, 1927, on Little Mountain near the cut at Kendall Drive in San Bernardino, according to old cemetery records. Officials back then did not make a determination as to whether he was murdered or committed suicide.
Coroner’s investigator David Van Norman and forensic anthropologist Alexis Gray are hoping the man’s teeth, femur and jaw bone will lead them to his identity.
