The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have a composite of Jane Doe on their site!

The text from her NCMEC page states:

"On February 20, 1979, a young female fell, or jumped, to her death from significant height at 717 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94109. She died as a result of extensive trauma from the fall. She was 5’6” and 162 pounds. She is estimated to be between 14 and 18 years of age with short sandy blonde hair. Both eyes were blue and her eyebrows were shaved. She was wearing blue jeans with a purple corduroy shirt, white socks and brown shoes. Investigators believe that she had good dental care early in life that had not been kept up in the last two years of her life. There is unverified information that her name could be “Sheri Nichols” or “Sheryl Michaels”. The image shown is a facial approximation created by a NCMEC Forensic Artist that depicts what the female may have looked like in life."

I did poke around a bit. There are a few hundred people with variants of the name Sheri Nichols born +/- 5 years of 1961. I haven't looked at Michaels yet.

Someone mentioned her up thread, but Anita Quist/Qvist? Similar height/weight, relatively close proximity, reconstruction looks very close. I’m not sure if the reports that Anita called her family in the 1980s are confirmed… No rule outs for either and no comparison seems to have been made here…

I was going to suggest Anita Anne Qvist who went missing from San Francisco in January of that same year. However I further read that she spoke with family via phone in 1984, so we can definitely rule her out. Obviously it’s possible could have faked being her and called the family, but I doubt the family would have said it was her if they weren’t sure.

I’m sure there’s a way to brute force it (I’m not the most tech literate) but I don’t know it. That’s also assuming it wasn’t an alias.

She (12) is almost certainly too young to be the JD, but gosh she looks a lot like Cheryl Hanson.

I would like to suggest Connie Gail Minchaca, who was last seen in Napa (distance of ~ 50 mi) in June 1978.

There is speculation, that she might have been kidnapped. She had a history of running away, but she would always take some of her personal belongings with her, which was not the case this time (Charley Project).

The UID and her both have blue eyes, shortish sandy/blonde hair and stood about 5'5 tall. The age range fits as well.
