Did she meet with anyone at her last known location?

An EBT card won't provide lodging, nor gas for the vehicle, nor most restaurant food/prepared meals. So that somewhat restricts a lot of travel expendedures, planned or otherwise.

Question> Do any of you know if the use of an EBT card can be tracked to a date/time/location? (Like a bank card could be).
They also get sold

On Friday, Fresno police reported that the vehicle was seen on July 15 around 9 p.m. in Waterford and later on Highway 120 east of Escalon.

LiveCopter 3 captured footage of the Stanislaus and San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office searching a canal in the area using an underwater drone.

Both departments confirmed to KCRA 3 they were assisting another agency with a search, but did not disclose which agency or who they were searching for.
*****
Vickie Torres, Whisper Owen's mother, said family members have been searching the nearby waterways but have found nothing.

She mentioned that a store in Waterford contacted them, sharing video footage that appears to show her daughter's vehicle driving by.

KCRA 3 obtained the video, which shows a vehicle with a missing headlight driving in Waterford.

After watching the last sighting of them I’m inclined to think they ended up in the water. Having a baby in a car by yourself is a handful unless they’re asleep. My thoughts are that she was attending to her baby, over corrected and crashed into the canal. Moo

I've been assuming it was a car accident, undetected.

I think it was night and she thought the canal was the road. Mistaking a body of water at night for a road has happened before.

We should know soon, imo.

Oh no. I really thought there would be a happier resolution to this.

I didn't pick up initially that her car was missing the driver's side headlight. That had to have impacted her driving at night.

I never personally thought she took off, if you're going to go intentionally missing, why complete a full days activities then start on home? Made no sense to me, and I found nothing in the court system that matched a family's members statement about an active warrant. I don't think the outcome is going to be good, but hopefully we'll have some further news soon.

I really want them to be ok but they've been missing for 3 weeks, Whisper has no history of running away, and the car hasn't been seen other than on cameras the day they went missing.
She could have accidentally fallen asleep, had a medical episode, or as Inthedetails said, mistaken water for the road especially in the dark with one headlight :(

Now, police are saying their SUV was also confirmed traveling through Waterford around 9 p.m. before making its way to Highway 120, east of Escalon – about an hour’s drive from their home.
It's a straight shot up 99 from Fresno to Elk Grove. What on Earth was she doing in Waterford and/or Escalon? If she'd left at 5 PM and drove straight up 99 she'd have been home before dark and would not have to worry about the headlight. And if stopped, she'd have been given a fix-it ticket. This makes no sense. I was hoping they would be OK, and it's really not looking good at this point.

I'm so baffled by Waterford. This wasn't complicated navigation, going from Fresno to home. Where on earth was she going?

Doesn't she have an open warrant? She wouldn't want to be pulled over, even for a minor issue, imo.

Seems like the idea of taking backroads made sense to her, even if it wasn't efficient.

Only her mother has stated she has an open warrant explaining that is why she believed police weren't taking her missing seriously. (that is from previous links in the thread). I could have missed something but I searched court records and open warrants in Kern, Fresno, and Sacramento Counties and found no open cases of any kind, civil or criminal, under the name Whisper Owen. Could it have been from a county that's not been mentioned as to her living in or spending time in - yes? But nothing where she or her immediate family lived.

Thanks for the correction. I do think, however, she deliberately kept off the major roadway and took less-monitored roads to avoid being pulled over.

Tbh, I thought we would have heard something from the canal search by now.

Nothing about what her mother said regarding the warrant made sense imo

She left Elk Grove at 4 AM. It was dark then. Did she take back roads on the way to Fresno, too? I can't imagine being that fearful of getting pulled over on a well-traveled road, but people do some strange things. I personally would not want to make a long road trip with an 8-month-old any longer than necessary, but that's me. JMHO.

I don't want to be pulled over in Fresno, but it is wayyyyy worse on back roads. Fewer cops, but if they know you don't belong there, you are in deeper trouble.

Agree, makes no sense whatsoever?

With all the gaps in time between leaving Fresno and the locations she is picked up on video. I can't help but wonder if she was under the influence of something? I hestitated to post this, but nothing is making sense?

She drove down and made it in time for the baby's apppointment ok. Family says she visits frequently, so it's not like she doesn't know the way?
