what a sad end to this case. RIP Whisper and Sandra
Before these guys, the ones who brought attention to the huge need for the people doing this job, there wasn't much for hope . I am glad these guys are helping make people aware . So many families have gotten their loved ones back because of their life paths. Got to respect the crap outa that.I agree, but in this case I think because they have been working with her brother, it was more for his benefit than
He really must have a great passion (and heart!!) for helping people, to be able to do those dives. I can’t imagine what terrible things he sees & endures. I have an incredible respect for recovery- and crisisdivers. What a gruesome & lonely job down there. Thanks to all people out there for putting yourself out there for loved ones you don’t know.
anything else. Know what I mean?
I posted cords really close to where she was found on Wednesday.Owen says the family was devastated to hear what they felt were dismissive responses early in the investigation.
“I hope law enforcement never again tells somebody, ‘Well, maybe they just don’t want to be found,’ or ‘Maybe they decided to take a break from you guys.’”
According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the Whisper Owen case spanned four counties — Fresno, Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin — complicating jurisdiction.
“It gets a little complicated in a sense,” said Heather Brent with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

A little complicated? That’s their job, LE should be equipped to handle a multi-jurisdictional investigation. Not uncommon at all. I think they are embarrassed because AWP found Whisper and Sandra - just like Kiely Rodni …
Why are you against this?Sometimes they talk too much. Why did they need to say all that so soon?
100%A little complicated? That’s their job, LE should be equipped to handle a multi-jurisdictional investigation.
I am not really , I just felt the commentary on how she tried to escape with the baby was a bit to soon. Knox pointed out it was probably on behaves of the family .Why are you against this?
You understood the point was positive toward Whisper, right?I am not really , I just felt the commentary on how she tried to escape with the baby was a bit to soon. Knox pointed out it was probably on behaves of the family .
I just feel like it could have waited until the family processes . Other wise I am just as on board with people talking as everyone else.
Indeed, when I read the statement by AWP, my first thought was that perhaps it was to help shut down rumors about intentional harm/foul play by Whisper. There seemed already to be a fair amount of those circulating, in my opinion, and I interpreted the AWP statement about her doing everything she could to save her baby as an attempt to comfort the family that Whisper had not tried to deliberately harm herself and Sandra. And also to squash the hurtful rumors and the tarnish to her memory as quickly as possible. You understood the point was positive toward Whisper, right?
I don't want to "victim blame" here, but we all pointed out earlier, that it seemed like an extremely long day, 4 am she left her home, had a busy day of appointment, visiting family, and left at 9 pm, with only one headlight on her car, and avoided the CA-99, which is a straight shot from Fresno to Elk Grove. Even the I-5, is a bit further west, is a straight road, with a fast lane to Elk Grove area.
It is sad, that people push themselves, and don't take more time to sleep, rest, and do try to avoid travel at night. It is more likely to hit animals out, just isn't worth it.
Yes, but I still, did not want to have the image of her trying to claw her way out of the car with her baby, so soon. You understood the point was positive toward Whisper, right?
I agree. It was too soon to announce that very vivid detail when I'm not even sure LE had publicly announced the finding yet? Any commentary, imo, should be after LE makes the public announcement (and certainly after information is relayed to the family so they don't learn via media reports).Yes, but I still, did not want to have the image of her trying to claw her way out of the car with her baby, so soon.
Knowing she probably could have saved herself, but did not.
I think you’re right on target.Indeed, when I read the statement by AWP, my first thought was that perhaps it was to help shut down rumors about intentional harm/foul play by Whisper. There seemed already to be a fair amount of those circulating, in my opinion, and I interpreted the AWP statement about her doing everything she could to save her baby as an attempt to comfort the family that Whisper had not tried to deliberately harm herself and Sandra. Sure , AWP, They got a history.Indeed, when I read the statement by AWP, my first thought was that perhaps it was to help shut down rumors about intentional harm/foul play by Whisper. There seemed already to be a fair amount of those circulating, in my opinion, and I interpreted the AWP statement about her doing everything she could to save her baby as an attempt to comfort the family that Whisper had not tried to deliberately harm herself and Sandra.
