This school needs to be proud of their teachers and staff. I am watching the live feed and they are maintaining such order with the children. I cannot imagine it would be easy to do considering the circumstances, their heads have to be spinning.

Horrible. Those poor traumatized kids and staff. I can't imagine. I was so glad when my husband retired from teaching second grade. A crazy-angry father of one of his kids was once told to leave the premises. I was afraid he'd return with a gun and shoot up the front office to reach the classroom. This was in the late 90's! People are even crazier now.

This is ripping my heart out. I am not sure I would be able to comply and go one place while I wait to get to my child who is being taken to another. I know it is the best way to do it, but easier said than done.

We don't mess around with active shooters. Fortunately/ Unfortunately we have t have all kinds f lockdown tiers and procedures in this place. The local PDs have Active shooter trainings.

Are spouses allowed to go to classrooms though? I heard on the news (I don't have a link) that the procedure is that they check in at the office. I don't think I would want someones spouse in my children's classroom.

I'm seeing unconfirmed personal "my mom works at the hospital" posts on another forum with some unconfirmed information.

As well as unconfirmed gender ages of 2 kids shot.
