Any additional thoughts on what could have happened to this boy? I think there's a UID found in Mass that looks a lot like him, especially in the eyes 1070UMMA

Panhandling and being on the streets is like an invitation to a child molester. Someone could have paid him money for a fake job with a true intention of sexually abusing him.

I am shocked he smoked and drank and had been in trouble at only 9. Too bad it was not reported before he went missing. Or that it was reported and nothing done.
I'm his little sister and tbh I think he knows who he went with no stranger shows up at someone's house in the middle of the night in the ghetto like expecting a kid to answer tbh my mom had enemies she gave up instead of looking for my brother I was a baby when he went missing

I wonder if Kenneth Parnell was ever looked at for this disappearance? He was out of prison by 1992, and while he initially settled in Bakersfield he tended to move around California alot.

Is there any way to find out if he was in San Bernardino county when this child disappeared?
I'm his little sister and tbh I don't think it's fair to just pick a name and pin a murder to his name regardless of his record I sincerely believe my brother knows his killer I believe he's dead and I believe my mom knew who the killer was as well not like intentionally knowing I just believe it was someone she knew

Such a horrible story, sorry that this hasn't been solved. All the stories and reports mention a knock at the door and then he was later riding his bike down the street. Any insight to the witness or witnesses who heard or seen this happen? Has your mother's acquaintances been interviewed?
I hope you and your family get answers!

Poor kid! His case deserves just as much attention as any other missing child's case.
If the rumors were true, people need to remember that children are innocent, and no child could smoke or drink unless an adult provided it to them somehow, and it's also a form of abuse or neglect of the child.

I hope your family finds closure sometime soon. Do you think your mother can reach out to law enforcement with any insight on who it may be? Even after this many years, there can still leads checked out.

This unidentified male (listed first on the site below) was found in Orange County & really resembles Scott. Also, the description cites poor dental care, which is mentioned in some of his online missing descriptions.

I think that since he had the ability to convince even adults to give him money, he was definitely mature beyond his 8/9 years... The fact that he smoked and drank alcohol leads me to think that he could have been with older children or young adults to have both in their hands... Did Scott sleep on the couch every night? Was that his bed because if not and he chose to sleep there that night, I think he possibly planned to leave (the lack of his bike also adds fire to this theory for me?) I think he was waiting for whoever called the house. at 2:30 am (why else would someone knock on the door at that time?) I'm speculating that they had something planned to do at that time but it didn't go as planned... If Scott wasn't afraid of strangers, he wouldn't It's crazy that he approached the wrong person while asking for money and then ended up kidnapping him too. I wonder if he left of his own volition and the thump his brother heard was Scott leaving the house. I also don't judge the family for trying to hide the facts about Scott's begging or asking strangers for money... They were probably afraid of backlash or being blamed for his situation...
either way
rest in peace

I have memories of a deceased child who looked a lot like Scott and wearing similar clothing. I sent his sister an email but not sure if she's active here anymore as I see it was a few years ago that she last posted. Who do I go to? I went to a PI at one point but he's so expensive that I can't pay anymore. I also sent an anonymous tip to the "unsolved" podcast but haven't heard back yet. Thanks to anyone who has suggestions.
