Wow there is so little information on Shannon’s disappearance. Who reported him missing? Does he live alone? Are family and friends looking for him?

The Ledger Dispatch FB page posted Thursday that he is still missing.

Also, his daughter posted more information but I can’t link it because it is on her personal FB page.

Shayleigh’s father, 65-year-old Shannon Scott, has been missing for five months. He was last seen on Aug. 29, shortly before leaving his Wilseyville home that he shared with his daughter, her boyfriend and their three young children. He was headed for his VA doctor’s appointment in Rancho Cordova but never made it.

“It is an ongoing investigation,” stated the representative on Jan. 22. The investigator declined to answer whether foul play had been ruled out, but said that the Sheriff’s Office had interviewed “multiple people, both family and friends.”

According to Shayleigh, the Kentucky-born veteran and retired landscaper had just enough gas in his car to make the trip there and back and he had no money. He was a “man of routine” and “clean cut” with no known mental health or substance abuse problems. He had been struggling with diabetes and other health issues when his daughter moved in last February, but she said he’d improved dramatically in the company of his family and was “healthy as a horse” when he left for his appointment that summer day, though he walked with a cane.

But despite his close relationship with his daughter, Scott kept some things private. Scott had a girlfriend who he had been dating for roughly two months before he left, Shayleigh said, but she doesn’t know for sure. All she knows is the woman’s first name and that she lived somewhere in Bummerville.

As the search for missing Scott has continued since last year, Scott’s daughter, 25-year-old Shaylee Scott has actively been posting updates on social media regarding the search of her missing dad, with her recollection and facts of the story varying from time to time. His daughter stated on her social media posts, that he is a man of habit and never veers from his daily routine and has no known memory issues.

She also stated early on in his disappearance that the family wanted privacy at the time and did not want it made public. Later on, she reprimanded the media and investigators by repeatedly saying that there was lack of support from them in the search of her missing dad. Shaylee has also been living in her missing dad’s residence on the 4000 block of Blagen Blvd, in Wilseyville during his disappearance.

[...]

While Shaylee Scott is her legal birth name, she uses the alias Shayleigh Scott on her social media. Before her dad's disappearance, her Facebook name was Shayleigh Scott Lewis, which she changed to Shayleigh Scott shortly after his disappearance. Shaylee also has previous convictions of elder abuse.

According to the Ledger Dispatch article “Guilty Pleas in Two Amador Elder Abuse Cases,” published on www.ledger.news on March 24, 2018, in August of 2017, Shaylee Scott worked as an in-home health care worker for a 91-year-old World War II Navy veteran who also relied on the help of others for basic daily needs.

Scott was entrusted to use the victim’s credit card to purchase his groceries, lunches, and other required items. However, Scott also used his credit card to take cash advances and pay her own bills without his permission. Due to the victim’s attention to detail, he knew something wasn’t right, and called law enforcement.

Previous conviction for elder abuse?? Gee how did she possibly think she wouldn't be looked at or that she would get away with this?

Cell phone records show that the last activity on his cell phone occurred on August 30 in the Sloughhouse area, east of Sacramento, near Jackson Road. The sheriff’s office also confirms that his vehicle was spotted in that same general vicinity, the previous day, around noon. Anyone who saw a 2014 Fiat traveling in that area is asked to call the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office. It had distinctive Purple Heart plates with a number of 9038PH.

His daughter, Shaylee Scott, was arrested during a later search of his home. She was charged with felony violation of probation and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

From the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office media releases and subsequent articles previously linked:

August 29 - Shannon Scott was last seen at his home (in Wilseyville) where he left for his appointment in Rancho Cordova at the VA, which he never made it to

August 30 - the last activity on his cell phone occurred about an hour away from his home and about 20 minutes away from Rancho Cordova, where his car was also spotted the day before, and which appears to be on the way between Wilseyville and Rancho Cordova

August 31 - he was reported missing and a Silver Alert was issued

And now his daughter has been arrested and we learn of former charges against her in 2018 for elder abuse.

I have so many questions. I don’t even know what to think. I’m just glad the sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate Shannon’s disappearance.

Appears that LE is still looking at daughter for his death.... regardless of what the coroner says. Wondering what they know...????

The cause of death for the man found in April inside a missing Wilseyville man’s vehicle was determined to be blunt force injuries to the neck and thorax, Amador County Undersheriff Gary Redman said in an email on Wednesday.
...

“As of now he is still John Doe,” Redman said.

Redman added the death was determined to be an accident. He did not provide additional comment and did not return requests for further explanation.

The return of the cause of death information and the expected determination on the identity of the man in the vehicle will spur developments in other ongoing investigations related to Scott.
...

“The cause of death is an area of interest in our investigation,” Stark said.

TY for finding that article about the official identification. They also included the coroner's final cause and manner of death:

"A coroner’s investigation was initiated and later determined the cause of death to be blunt impact neck and thoracic injuries. The manner of death was an accident."

Also included in this thorough article was this photo:
