Does anyone else find it strange that she was a stay-at-home mom, but her kids went to daycare? Her husband said she never picked the kids up from daycare the day she disappeared. Isn't the point of a stay-at-home mom so your kids don't go to daycare? That was strange to me.

I guess the kids could go to daycare for a day or two to get socialized with other children...

thoughts?

IIRC front and side windows must let in 70% of light? Compared to other states that's pretty much no tint, but you're righy, I should have been more specific

That's just the windows in the two front seat(s). Back seat(s) & cargo windows can be any darkness.

Heavily tinted windows? Not sure what the law is about those in CA.

It's legal on the back windows. It's also common on the front windows, if you are willing to pay fines. I had tinting on all my windows when I lived in California, and got a few tickets for it.

Funny how everything is relative, isn't it? I've lived in Kansass nearly my whole life, and I know where Yolo is. But then, my brother used to live in Woodland and my nephew still does. We would sometimes take that very exit or the next exit south (18), to go west towards the Yolo Fliers Club to get to my nephew's. Plus, I'm a bit of a geography buff. If I've been there once or seen it on a map, it pretty much sticks.

Are there any signs on I-5 saying your at the town of Yolo? I don't remember. I may have to take a drive up there this weekend.

No, because she worked for AT&T in Sales and most telecom sales execs work from home.

Sorry to hear you suffer from migraines. I do too. Quiet, dark, and cool I'd what I need when an attack hits so that very well could be the case.

Right back at you. :heartbeat:
And you're so right: heat is the enemy, too.

The question I was addressing asked if tinted windows could have hidden their faces. So unless the driver was driving from the back of the suv, I believe my answer was accurate. *smdh*

Or community concern... My heart goes out to the Papini Family, as a mother I cannot imagine the pain of being unwillingly separated from my children...
With that being said, I could not help but notice that Mr.Papini did not so much as mention or acknowledge , the other mother Stacey Smart that is also missing. It struck me as odd to say the least,
1. They are in relative close proximity.
2. The timing that both went missing was eerily close.
3. He has experienced first hand the extreme agony and now the joy of his wife's return.
4. In the midst of narrating his families ordeal on a national podium, what a perfect opportunity to at least extend kind thoughts and united hope to that family, if not all families of missing people.
These are my thoughts, my opinions. My family is a member of the "Missing Loved Ones Club", even though it has been over 20 years...
That pain, Those thoughts, that fear, for my children and yours, is never far away...
Wow Iona...bingo! Your post made me realize why something bothered me about the interview. I cant go into detail because it might be considered to be criticism of KP and I dont want to be critical of him. Im sure he is doing his best to deal with this tragedy.
I will say, IMO, there doesnt seem to be much concern by those involved about two women abductors being at large in the community.

I too wonder where the anger and outrage, pleading with the public for information and clues is. It's the same feeling I had after the search for SP stopped...like the public is being asked to believe certain things, accept the situation and move along. NOT directing this at anything in particular anyone in particular has said. Just the general tone of this case is different than any I have come across.

He's not a liar. Article has been updated including the name of the person he talked to. Sounds like someone there was talking out of turn. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...alleged-abduction_us_5841f882e4b0c68e0480eb9f

From your link: "“I don’t know if the words ‘ruled out’ can be used,” a staff member named Kelly at the Shasta County sheriff’s office told The Huffington Post on Friday, when asked if authorities suspected a hoax. Kelly declined to give her last name, and answered questions about the Papini case when HuffPost requested to speak to a communications officer."

http://www.redding.com/news/local/Shasta-County-Sheriff-disputes-hoax-story-404372706.html?d=mobile

"Based on information we have, there's no reason to believe this is not legitimate," Bosenko said. "Since speaking to Papini, based on information we've received, we believe her. We believe that this was an abduction."

Things that make you go, hmmmm....

She was near woodland, and yes, there are signs that say entering woodland, but I'm not sure if they are near where she was

Talked it to death, sold it on ebay, found it in the mailbox, left it out in the rain, Fed Exed it to China and it still keeps coming back! :blushing:

Even WS has an insider verification process. I think it would be more than expected of a serious journalist, too; simply thinking he spoke to a spokesperson and then publishing said person's words as fact are, in my world, unprofessional in the very least, hence the loss of credibility.

If he called the Sheriff's office and was told this by someone who gave him her first name, Kelly, I think he should be able to report that.

Big sunglasses and baseball caps would render them hard to describe. And I doubt she was focused on making sure she could give an accurate description in the moments before she was abducted.

that leads to questions like: what kind of sunglasses? color of and / or logo on baseball caps? etc.

No, tinted windows are not illegal—the front drivers & passenger windows need to be see through (but light tinting is legal); all other windows can be tinted as dark as one prefers. In fact, my brand-new California-purchased SUV (Toyota Landcruiser) came with stock tinted windows that are completely black all around the back w/moderate tinting on the drivers & passengers doors.

Yes. As you said, front windows must be light. I know someone who was stopped by police and told their front windows were too dark, even though they came from the factory and were sold on a Cadillac in California.

But if the windows were light, the driver and front passenger's faces should have been visible so SP could see it was women and perhaps not be worried? Yet how would she know if anyone else was in the back if back windows were dark?

Gosh, not me. I would be glad if he was defending me and trying to set the record straight.

I think the variations on comfort level are so individual. I am not sure any of us can say what she would think because the possibilities are so vast. We can only hope that whatever he is doing is done with her permission and within her comfort level. I think we could all agree that if she was uncomfortable with his actions/inactions that he would be erring on the wrong side of things.

Ahhh, my apologies! I thought it was a question about whether Sherri herself could have been concealed. No need for head shaking! :)
