No matter what link I click it has a line across the play button. Has the video been taken down or is it me?

working for me

In some cases, the lost device has a dead battery or is simply turned off. So does Find My iPhone still work? Live tracking will not work, but Find My iPhone may still be able to lead you to your missing phone by showing you its last known location.

Instead of a green circle on a map identifying the iPhone's current location, the last known location of the iOS device will be displayed by a grey circle.

Thanks, Dushi. Good information.

Or it sounds like a convenient way to explain why she doesn't have better descriptions.

We know it had to have happened near the end because if not, LE would have zero reason to mention the inconsistency of not finding a cut on her foot. It's interesting that they released that info at all. Bizarre in fact. Why did they release that? What purpose does it serve?

If true, they might release the info in case someone knows someone who looks like one of the women in the sketch and she has an unexplained head injury? It could be a message to help get a specific tip.

Otherwise I don't know. It's weird and all it leaves me thinking is they don't think it's true, because even if I can come up with a reason why they might share that bit of information, why include the part about her not having a cut on her foot?

So I think I understand why they released that footage. Can we go back and pick apart her story about being released? Didn't she say she was tied up, had on heavy restraints and chains, and a bag over her head? She's jogging around pretty easily. I don't really see her weighted down by any chains.

Doesn't work for me either, Lilibet. Is it a safari thing?

The first part of the video makes sense to me. Running from a road where kidnappers drop you off to a church to seek help is something almost all of us would do. The second part makes no sense. Would anyone run back towards the exact spot where they had just been dropped off by kidnappers?

Also, on the top half of the screen, does it look like it is raining? I didn't realize it was raining that night.

KP in 2016:

She was thrown from a vehicle with a chain around her waist, attached to her wrists and a bag over her head. The same bag she used to flag someone down once she was able to free one of her hands

I wonder if he's seen the video before now?

Are you unable to get to the Shasta County Sheriff page too? It's the link in Gardener's post.

It's weird that people can't get to the the sheriff's website!

I couldn't either. I think it is because I have an iPhone and they are using flash.

It's difficult if not impossible to tell anything from that video other than the fact that she can move and run. Now, I'm sure some people will extract frame-by-frame images and try to show that she was walking a dog or sporting an "I Heart Doctors" tattoo.

But seriously, you can't tell anything from that. But I wonder if the video is what the Sheriff was referring to when he said that more info was going to be released in the coming weeks/months? I wonder why they didn't go ahead and release this on the same day they did the press release?

Thank you. The quality isn't good enough for us to be able to see a chain, but she doesn't appear to be struggling or weighted down. I would have trouble running like that if there were a heavy chain around my waist and on one of my arms.

On the dispatch audio, it was the California Highway Patrol that said she was "chained to something". I don't know that it was ever characterized as a "heavy" chain. Because she is a slight woman, it wouldn't take much chain to secure her. Not all chain is metal, and small width size like 1/4" wouldn't be that heavy at all especially if it's a lower-grade chain like grade 30. That type of chain would only weigh about .6 of a pound per foot of chain. So even if she had 6 feet of chain around her, it would still only be between 3 and 4 pounds in weight. Even lighter if the chain is smaller, like 3/8" or 1/8".

This works! Thanks! She’s really truckin’. Looks like pure panic IMO.

Well, I certainly had pictured something else in my mind, like tighter restraints around her ankles, such as metal clamps, and one arm free, the other zip tied to a chain around her waist. We can't really see enough to tell if anything was around her. Kinda weird.

Regarding leg clamps, LE said that they were hose clamps used for pain compliance. There are a few different kinds, but a very common one is the worm gear clamp. You can tighten it by turning the screw with a screwdriver:

They are lightweight, though. As long as the clamp hasn't been tightened up severely, it wouldn't have hindered her ability to run.

I agree. I'm sure that the Sheriff's Dept. means well, but IMO this is another instance of "too little, too late"... almost a year too late.
