Does "phone stopped communicating" mean it was no longer traceable? Battery dead or removed? Or shut off? Sorry for sounding dumb, but I really am when it comes to techy stuff.

That basically happened over 2 miles in front of their house and actually that incident with the very long follow up is part of why I think LE prioritized themselves to respond slowly to that. That would be mighty crazy to wait 12 days to get information from a witness and then after almost two weeks to drag the husband along for that. There's also no mention there of KP having any involvement other than being a listed contact, like what it says on all the Papini-related entries.

There are two incidents in that screenshot. The first one is behind the Papini house. It states this in the log.

Considering the find my phone was working I assume it was traceable..I'm wondering if it just means she wasn't responding?

But the "behind the house" info is just for another reporting party and has been on every log on this case since at least 11/5. I don't think this is anything significant.

It could be lost wifi/gps, battery died, removed or turned off.

The Find my phone app will log the last place the phone had Internet connections. This means the phone was near the mailbox location when it lost connections and remained there until Keith found it.

If anyone happened upon it and thought "free iphone", taking it with them, Keith would have been led to the mailbox location, but the phone would have been gone.

Right but I'm reading two different subjects with different reporting party's for each and both say follow up, as if they're following up on both reports. Just the way I'm seeing it. I may be wrong.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that video before. LINK.

Just to clarify, because I've seen it mentioned quite a few times now with puzzlement:
"they've dumped both the cell phones" means that they took a complete image of all the storage on the phones. Backed them up, basically, so that no info can be lost. I would assume phones is plural because they did both Sherri's and Keith's.

I'm not sure the statement "her cell phone connections went dead around noon," should be taken to mean the phone went dead.
I'm thinking he meant that they don't see any user input after noon. ie, no texts, phone calls, or app use.

He also says, "[the husband] ended up pinging her phone," which isn't quite an accurate way of saying what happened there, either. So what he is saying needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

If you're referring to the 'Her Mother Lives Behind MP RESD,' that's part of the generic entry that's been on there for ages, like it said that same thing in the report about clothing in a ditch on Holiday/Old Oregon on 11/7.

Okay. So they were following up with Sherri's family on where these leads have lead them? I'm going to assume nowhere based on what we know. If I were Keith P I'd spend a lot of time with LE too, trying to find out if they're any closer to finding his wife. I'd also be asking why people are complaining on SM about their leads being ignored.

His choice of words, "her cell phone connections went dead" isn't very helpful, for sure.

I'm thinking the 11:00 AM sighting might be valid. She was taken and her phone placed out in that location by the abductor.

I have an android phone and I can see if my texts were read. Can you do that on an IPhone? In any event that seems to suggest she may not have seen Keith's text at 1:39 narrowing the time frame and why they started saying late morning/ early afternoon.

Thank you! Like I said we really need to be careful making assumptions based on the call logs. The 'comment' after a persons name is just a description or 'note'. That persons mom lives behind the Papini house. That is how she is associated with the case. She has had the same description from other logs along with Papini family relatives having their own description.

Same as the same vehicles being mentioned over and over on the logs regarding follow ups.

Thank you for taking the time to explain that. Why would someone bother to shut the phone off or remove the battery if they were just going to toss it?

And if the phone lost connection at noon, remained at the mailboxes, it suggests she disappeared there at noon ... so the 2pm jogging sighting is improbable. She was missing within one hour of asking her husband if he was coming home for lunch.

But even taking it as a separate incident, it shows it lasted a total of 1 minute and there's no mention of it causing KP to spend time with LE because of it.

And as a semi-local, people on the HFSP FB page and here have every right to be concerned with the way SCSO handles missing persons cases. Their track record is not good.

IMO, of course :)

And Keith's step dad/mom's long term boyfriend recently stated that she was reportedly jogging around noon. I'm not sure if his statements matter though. Did someone say he's no longer the spokesperson for this case?

Right...one is at The Papini residence...received at 11:27 a.m. and closed/cleared at 11:28 a.m. The second was received at 4:36 p.m. and ended 6:03 p.m.

I used to have an iPhone. When the phone is powered down, or the battery goes dead, the phone reports its last known location.

It doesn't have to be on for find my iPhone to work, as long as it hasn't moved since it powered down.

Thank you!!!!!! It's what us data types call "header level". It's part of the original input and carries forward to all related items meeting certain criteria. Doesn't carry any significance.
