Just a thought in reference to your last paragraph ... would a mother leave her children in the care of an abuser?

No way. I do not for a second believe she left him because of abuse. Did she leave on her own? I don't know, but I reeeeallllly don't think she would leave those beautiful children to be in danger.

I'm hoping this is not a Jessica Padgett type situation.

SOS I can't find Sherri's personal FB page. I know all my super sleuth points have been revoked. Can anybody help?

She doesn't have one. They had a combined one but it's been disabled.

FIL said 'Keith’s vehicle has gps tracking. Both his work and personal cell phone pings were tracked for the day of the disappearance.'

I assume they have 2 cars and he takes one to work and then takes the company vehicle out to the field. Interweb says Best Buy home theater installers make $13-21 hr, with an average salary of $36,584.

Just a thought in reference to your last paragraph ... would a mother leave her children in the care of an abuser?

It happens - especially if the children are not targets of the abuse. With young children, their personalities are being formed, so parenting can easily substitute for that much needed control for the abuser. Victims often plan how to gain custody of their children; however, many often realize the obsession of the abuser intensifies when children are initially taken. Impossible to know how each individual makes these plans. I do believe, the person best able to predict behavior of the abuser is the victim. So whatever plan the victim formulates, it's most likely the safest one, in my opinion.
Again, not saying this is what happened here but some things line up for me.

Venturing down the path that she voluntarily left:

FIL states:
"The pre-school/day care is open until 5:30pm. Although Sherri usually picked them up at 3:30 there was no requirement for her to do so, so no call was sent from the pre-school. I’m Keith and Sherri’s father in law. Keith called his mom when he got home and Sherri and the kids were not. She called me and then went to get the kids while Keith searched for Sherri. When he found her phone he called the police, then called his Mom who was enroute to pick up the kids; she relayed the news to me and I headed over to Keith’s house also. Keith’s Mom arrived at the house with the kids, and then I arrived just ahead of the Sheriff’s (4 vehicles) who were trying to find the address in the rural area where they live. Keith’s mom and I have been taking care of the kids since then, as Keith has been working night and day trying to find Sherri and working with police, private investigators and volunteer searchers.

Keith is working full time at Best Buy, is a regional home theater specialist and is paid quite well. Both Keith’s mom and I are fairly affluent and if they needed money we would of helped without question. We also spend a lot of time with Keith, Sherri and the kids each week and are a very close family; we spent a week with them in early October, as we do every year, as that is the anniversary of their wedding..

Keith’s vehicle has gps tracking. Both his work and personal cell phone pings were tracked for the day of the disappearance. Every customer he visited that day confirmed Keith’s whereabouts. Keith requested the lie polygraph test 4 days before it was administered and passed it 100%.

Sherri is the most devoted mother I’ve ever seen. No way she walks out on those children. 2 days before she left a voicemail (which we have) asking if she could make the sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving as she has a special recipe to prepare them “the way the kids like them”. That same day, Halloween, she commented how much fan she had trick or treating in our neighborhood and that we would do this again every year.

By the way, Keith has lived in that house for over 20 years, as it was his parent’s home and is now owned by his Mom after they were divorced about 14 years ago."

>>>>>

Sherri and Keith live in a house owned by Keith's mom.

SP's mom facebooked about her daughter's disappearance around 8:30 Thursday morning. Do we know when she was first alerted to everything? She makes a post about the Cubs winning, and that must have been late on November 2, so idk.

FIL states he and Keith's mom have been taking care of the kids ever since day one of her disappearance.

FIL states they are affluent.

And finally, FIL states they take care of the children every Saturday.

Praying for Sherri.

Where are we seeing they have the kids every Saturday. I think that makes them awesome grandparents, and Keith and Sherri awesome parents for keeping date nights!

I didn't catch until now that they lived in a rural area that LE couldn't even find at first (paraphrasing).

This sounds like my wife's parents growing up. Deeply involved with the family. Sounds like a great atmosphere for all..

This sounds like the same guy who was stalking the girl that Shasta College in the 800 parking lot.
Through computer records, police were able to determine that Acosta lives in San Pablo. Police also were able to determine the license plate number of the suspected vehicle, which turned out to be a 2003 Mercury Marauder, a sedan that looks very similar to a Crown Victoria.

The story linked above has more info than the earlier story.

The suspect at the college, was reported to drive a black Honda civic, with silver after market rims. That's pretty different than the Mercury Marauder.

LE has taken the Mercury, I'll bet they are going through it with a fine tooth comb.

I saw this too. Hopefully, they will look into him more for other disappearances in the area.

There was a stalking recently at the college which is near where SP went missing. Same car color and Hispanic male was the description of man. At the time the Sheriff said they were not related to SP. So unless he has changed his mind then I don't think they are related. This is from the local paper http://www.redding.com/news/local/Sheriff--401588036.html

Local LE and the FBI do not entertain open missing persons cases and expend investigative resources on someone in witness protection. You can confidently cross that off the list.

The daycare routine is fuzzy...not sure if there are clues there or not. But knowing some details about drop-off, lunch routine, and pick-up for the kids would help firm-up the timeline.

I'm wondering if the children were enrolled in a Head Start preschool program. I don't believe this has been mentioned, my apologies if it has.

*IF* the children were enrolled in Head Start this link shows where the Shasta offices are located in relation to where they live:

http://www.shastaheadstart.org/shasta-county.html

Based on a comment SP wrote to one of her Poshmark customers, my guess is that she dropped the children off for preschool somewhere around 9:00 am. (Granted, this could change in time and may not be the case now.) Am I allowed to share the link and comment here? I'll wait until I know for sure.

IMOO, I strongly believe SP is a good mom and that she'd never voluntarily leave her children or her husband. I also do not believe abuse is a factor here at all. KP is not a POI.

Witness protection...that WAS sarcastic right? If not I think I need to take a break from this thread if that's becoming a theory.

SBM

I read this and thought, "What the ...?!"

We watched that game, it went into extra innings, so very late! Surely they weren't watching baseball while there was a search for their missing daughter? And if posted the next day, what parent would even be concerned about the Cubs?

Very confusing.

Definitely odd, although the game wasn't nearly as late on the west coast as it was on the east coast :). Still, if she didn't know by that evening that she was missing, that would be odd.

Watch the last thing we'd suspect happen and she's just lost in the woods and has been feeding on the wild life. As for whoever asked if she would have her face on for her jog that depends but as someone who takes pride in being a good gf or a stepfors wife type I would imagine purely because of her alter ego board or whatever it was that IF she thought he may be home for lunch she could have done her makeup to look her best for her husband since that would be very stepford wife but if she suspected he wouldn't be home she probably planned a run then a shower before getting done up to get the kids and make dinner or whatever. Which what if she was showering when the person got into the house then when wrapping her gift she needed something from a crafts drawer and went to go get it when thy stopped her or what if she heard their car and assuming the driveway isn't short and they don't get a lot of people turning into it she either thought it could be her husband or ups and ran downstairs and yea. Also how many other door to door or delivery type jobs could there be to trick her? I mean police ups and mailman I'm sure are more common but who knows.

Sadly, that is one scenario I've imagined.

if you work 4 days per week you are not considered a SAHM. If you have childcare options four days per week you are not logging SAHM hours so what are you considered? SAHUM? Stay at home unemployed mom? Or is the big secret that she was still employed? Is she a Secret Private Investigator with a CCW?
