Respectfully, it is unusual.THats not that unusual. She could have been chained in a basement or back room. And someone came to feed her while disguised or they just slid food into the room?
Well, you only have 4 posts, so maybe that username isn't exactly right??? But I recall it being along those lines. Can you go back into the Mickey Shunick threads to find you? You would also need your password ...
From the linkSecurity experts weigh in on Papini case
"Why was she abducted? If she was in restraints, she posed no threat to her captors, so why did they let her go?
Those are the lingering questions for Joe Giacalone, a retired New York police sergeant and professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, who has been following the Northern California womans case.
Its not going to be easy, he said of the probe to come. but she is the key to this.
The newspaper spoke to Giacalone and Danny Detenbaugh, a former Dallas FBI director who led the task force that investigated the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and has expertise in hostage situations, to ask about the prevalence of cases in which captors release their victims and how those victims respond when they return home.
In Giacalones experience, it is a rarity for a victim to be released, and he was upfront that the story so far does not add up.
"To attack somebody, kidnap them, tie them up, take them 150 miles and then leave them on the side of the road, it just doesn't make any sense to me," he said."

Much more at link
I'll keep this one, I guess. Unless I told someone my password, I'll never remember it for sure.
There was another gulf coast case - the girl in the bay, maybe? Happened in maybe the same year as Mickey...I'm hazy on that one, but I thought I remembered you from there, as well.
I'm so OT, I'll be getting demerits.

Yes, Jaren Lockhart ... her body was found here in my town, Bay St. Louis.
I'm sure that LE on the scene -- and later, at the hospital -- tried to get as much information from her as possible (given her mental state after this traumatic ordeal). Don't you think so?
What was her mental state? I didn't see that anywhere.

"People need to realize she was held captive for three weeks," Bosenko said. "That was a traumatic and emotional experience in itself, and then upon her release was another very emotional experience, being reunited with her husband is an emotional experience. So she is only able to provide a limited amount of information."
Ok.

Sometimes when someone comes up with a lie, they make it a strange enough one to say just that...come on, don't you think if I was going to lie, I would have come up with something better than that?...but at the same time, they keep it just within what they believe as a realm of possibility. (Casey Anthony, comes to mind) Eventually, the lie will get found out if the right people are following up on every detail provided and/or omitted.
I continue to be stuck on how irresponsible the cops are in this case. Asking people to call it in if they see two hispanic women in a dark SUV is absurd. It is only going to lead to profiling and a metric ton of useless leads. Bosenko saying this is an isolated incident is also ridiculous. Umm...there are two kidnappers running around so how does he know that? I get that they are holding back some info but it really doesn't make sense.
I wouldn't, unless I was armed. I am jaded and would be afraid that it was somehow a setup amd that I would end up just like her.If I came upon a woman who was bound and chained by the side of the road in obvious need of help I probably would not get out of my car but I would call for help...911... and stay as close to her as possible...in my car..with the door locked...until help arrived. I do. t care if I was going to be late to work!
I think perhaps they were directed by LE to continue on with their original plans."I was at home when I was called" would have been perfectly appropriate in that circumstance.
I only wonder why the secrecy is all. Surely there's nothing incriminating or potentially case-threatening by stating where you were when you were told...?
But then I also wonder why the question. Do the press know where she was? I.e. Perhaps she was setting up for balloon release/ poem etc.
Maybe they were trying to point out the obvious fact that it was odd to have continued with that particular activity knowing that Sherri had been found.
All MOO and just tumbling thoughts around.
LOL ... glad you remembered who you are! After this case, I may need a reminder ...![]()

The same description of the captors is on all the Bay Area news stations. Perhaps a better description will be forthcoming because the current description covers about 35% of the state's population, if not more.Do the women in the Redding and Sacramento areas need to be concerned about kidnappers in their midst? What are the ages, height, description of these two Hispanic women with a handgun traveling in a dark SUV? Why isn't the mayor asking these questions and advising citizens?
If I was an abductor, I would certainly grab the phone but I would not leave the phone or anything else at the exact point of abduction. If I was going to throw something out the window at some point, as a misleading clue, it wouldn't be the phone.
