MORGAN HILL, Calif., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- The parents of California teenager Sierra LaMar said their missing daughter's 16th birthday Friday would be bittersweet.

SAN JOSE, Calif.—The man charged with killing a 15-year-old Northern California girl has now been charged with trying to kidnap three women during a string of earlier carjackings.

Antolin Garcia Torres, accused in the alleged murder-kidnapping of missing Morgan Hill teen Sierra La Mar, also will face charges Wednesday in the alleged attacks on three women in 2009, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.
