I agree, Hound. I think the hair appt. was made after Sierra disappeared.

Steve LaMar made the comment about the hair appt. 4 days after Sierra went missing. I think he was still in the mindset of believing that she had run away from home, and he was trying to offer her a reason to come back.

I also thought the comment about seeing her dance and cheer again could be taken that way, i.e., come home and we'll try to make things the way they used to be. But as you note, that was in a different "phase" of the investigation.

That is the part that bothers me one media source. All the other said forensics this is the same media channel that when the twitter happened last week said that LE was talking to the hackers. When all other media including the LE spokesman said Thet do not know who hacked into her twitter.

I agree that the media source was probably wrong in both cases...I just was answering to another poster that it was in the media, it did not come her mother, etc...

Well if the DNA found belongs to a stranger to LE, then they would KNOW she was kidnapped, basically, right? That would pretty much remove any lingering doubt? JMO

But what if perp is not a stranger? What of Sierra knows the perp very well? What if DNA that was found would be seen as normal.. Not out of place?

IMO: Sierra knew her abductor...

If you watch the two videos in the link, they both say a shirt and pants, nothing else. So it's hard to tell what the truth is.
It's not hard to tell what the truth is if we hear it with our own ears...assuming they are telling the truth.

I think cops have an aversion to the words naked, bra and panties. They avoid those...LOL.

By now, there should be a very good idea of what Sierra was wearing. It is process of elimation. I'm pretty sure that Jersey was in that bag...just a hunch. If not, it is still missing.

Marlene could resolve the issue. She either knows its in the house or it's gone. Since she hasn't said so and since she leans towards that is what she was wearing, I will say it's in the bag. Cardoze said undergarments. At least it was reported as such.

Now, as I said, I don't trust these written reports completely but if you guys are going to use them, Cardoza is referred to as reporting undergarments were found in the bag.

Someone put the clothes in the bag. Who we don't know. Some thnk Sierra, some don't.

1. marlene says Sierra doesn't fold when packing a suitcase.
2. we don't know everything in the bag. we were told t-shirt, pants, bra, panties.
3. we know jersey is what she was wearing. It was described and is on flyer
4. we don't know if LE/media took t-shirt to mean jersey.
5. marlene believes clothes in bag were what she was wearing. (this tells me the jersey could have been in the bag)

Who folded the clothes neatly and placed them in the bag. Did Sierra do it by removing neatly folded clothes from a dresser drawer? Or were the clothes taken from Sierra after a crime and neatly folded and placed as close to her home as they were willing to go. Was this done as a gift type sick action to her loved ones or was it done to toy with LE? Does the perp think he is smarter than LE?

On one hand, it appears the perp was furious and threw her phone out the window. OTOH, he is lovingly folding her clothes. This is a conflict. I would have expected the clothes and books to be strewn also.

At the beginning, LE said the cell was tossed minutes after leaving the home. This is when the perp was in a rage. Later, after time, he calmed down and placed her belongings to be found....if he was the one that folded them..hmm.

RBBM: Great Observation ... this really stood out to me when I read your post :

That the phone was "thrown" -- BUT -- the books and the handbag with the "neatly folded clothes" inside -- were "placed" at another location ...

So ... the "perp" would have had to "calm down" to gather up the handbag and books and put them in that location near that shed -- AFTER -- the perp got over his "rage" ...

I still question WHY the "perp" would leave a "trail" ... a "trail" so CLOSE to Sierra's home ...

Makes absolutely no sense to me ... I would "think" a perp would discard those items far far away ... in a dumpster or trash can somewhere ...

And that is why I canNOT rule out "staging" ... "confused staging" at that to point away from what really happened ...

and then you have her friends saying that they "accidentally" tweeted it I don't know why they would want to claim to do something that as you said is before is a criminal offense I would believe LE in this case.

So true but I believe someone turn that friend into the tip line . I am sitting waiting to hear the LE come out and say it was an accident done by a friend and we found them thanks to a tip and they admitted it. It was not a hoax.

It would have to be someone whose DNA LE has, if that is the case. As I think unknown DNA, in most cases, if found on her items that she was carrying that day, would rule out any running away scenario completely. And that has not been done 100% by LE. JMO

What if the perp had a helper... So one was calm ... The other in a rage or panic??
one takes care of Sierra the other takes care of the Juicy bag?

I was never "alarmed" when a schoolmate didn't show up for class in high school. Why would I be?

I was never "alarmed" when a classmate didn't show up for a college class either. Why would I be?

Same here, unless I had close friends in school I had made plans with; also there have been questions posed on the local news about why didn't her friends at school notice she was missing right away. That's all I was musing about.

I guess D. Lamar lied too......???? OR after the FACT......????

The night before Sierra disappeared, Danielle LaMar left Sacramento State for spring break and joined her father at his Fremont townhouse. On their way back from dinner, Sierra, a 5-foot-2-inch brunette, called. They put her on speakerphone.

"She was talking about how she wanted to get her hair done the next time she went to Fremont. She wanted to add some blond streaks," Danielle LaMar said. "She was very excited about one of her school assignments, telling me about her research paper. Bringing up her grades made her happy."

LOL.. I think you just wrote exactly what I was thinking... Sorry, I am not that great saying the things I want to say...

This is what I was attempting to convey.
You expressed it so much better than I.

Thanks, Key!

I don't think tossing the phone had to be an act of "rage"...it was just a way to get the phone out of the car and thereby make the route untraceable. I still the bag was stowed where it was as either a staging act, or after, on the way back from wherever Sierra was taken and left. JMO

No. Dad made the hair appt and it was ridiculed that a DAD would do that... for some odd reason. Go back to earlier THREADs.

Sierra’s father, Steve LaMar, told ABC News he has no reason to believe she was planning on running away. He said there was “nothing out of the ordinary” about her behavior before her disappearance. He spoke to her Thursday evening and she asked him to make an upcoming hair appointment for her.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlin...sing-california-teen-sierra-lamars-cellphone/

The night before Sierra went missing, she asked her father to make an appointment to get her hair highlighted. He said he texted her the next day to say he had, but never got a reply.

Are his comments about actually making a hair appt. in quote marks, lol? I know you're a stickler for quote marks, as proof that the person is being directly quoted, as opposed to the reporters coming to their own conclusions.

We've all read that he had a conversation on Thursday evening with Sierra about a hair appt.

IMO, the above snippets aren't necessarily proof that he got on the horn Thursday night immediately after hanging up with Sierra & made a hair appt. Huffington Post is notorious for circulating innaccurate information, especially in this case. Did a Huff-Po reporter speak directly to Steve, or did that reporter copy/paste/extrapolate from other articles?

Here's what I don't doubt: when Sierra was reported missing Friday @ about 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Friday March 16, Steve had been contacted by Marlene prior to reporting her missing, to rule out the possibility that perhaps Sierra was with her father.

I think the hair appt. was made after Sierra went missing, because her father thought she might have run away from home, and he was hoping it would provide an inducement for her to her return.

What's the dealio?

It says she WANTED to. Not that there was an appointment made.
Who would want Dad to anyway when he doesn't know the difference in a dye job and getting highlights?

yes, the article says Cardoza says...but there are no " " actually quoting him. And if you watch the video at the bottom of that article that is the actual press conference and starting at 1:18 he talks about the bag. He says a t-shirt and pants. Never mentions bra and underwear at all.

I watched it live and never heard him say that and I still haven't heard him say that. It has been printed that he said he but it's always without quotations.

So :waitasec::waitasec:

Sometimes the press conferences are cut off early by the news cameramen, and the questions keep on going. So maybe a reporter asked for clarification on the undergarments, but it is not included in the video.

The days of good reporting and the written word are over. They don't use quotes anymore (think twitter, lol) seriously, I have seen things quoted that were over a year old. The reporter inferred in happend the day prior.

For me to read an article now, I have to pull apart every word and punctuation and it doesn't help much at all. Our country and good use of the English language have parted ways, I'm afraid.
