Fashonista_gal, the post right above yours in the link says that Sierra was not noted to be inside the car but that doesn't mean she wasn't pushed down or put in the trunk or something..

It is very good info that they were able to place the car both near her road and near where the items were found... I hope this car is currently plastered over the entire area to generate some leads (along with a plug on the reward)...

And a quote from that article:

Lab results were also able to determine that the empty handcuff box and used condoms that were found in the search area are not related to the case.

It's a minor detail but it always feels good to me when my gut instinct is correct (I never thought they were connected to the case).

It is helpful too to know the hand cuffs and west Palm are not connected to this case, according to County Crime Lab. The perpetrator may know red cars have the reputation for drawing attention, even slapped with more speeding tickets, but we know he is brazen to an extreme. Good job his car had high visibility.

she could have also been pushed down or in the trunk... I truly hope this is the info that can bring her home and that people call in if they see/know this car

I could easily be wrong but if the video surveillance shows the suspect car near where the JC purse was found, I think that implies the car was there early the day Sierra disappeared.

I mean, after dark, wouldn't video surveillance show very little other than headlights?

If Sierra wasn't spotted inside the vehicle, I agree that she was probably pushed down or in the trunk. Which means that she probably was not there voluntarily.

GD, I think it is great news that we know there is not a third place that items from the case were discarded (re: handcuffs box and condoms).

What is even great-er is that this car was placed near the home and near the other items.. wish they could have said which direction the vehicle was going and what time it was captured!

Weeks to look at surveillance tapes of the time and place of her disappearance?
If they say so.

Well, I suppose if they're really lucky, they have some of the "perp" tiptoeing over to
the cactus, too.

It is wildly coincidental.

I will assume that no one in SL's immediate family or group of friends or even friends of the family have a similar car since I believe LE would have hopped right on that. So now if this car is connected it means it did not belong int hat neighborhood and was spotted by a witness as being off. So is this a stranger abduction after all? What they need now is a wife/girlfriend or someone to connect the car to their husband/bf/friend and realize they were missing from work that day.

Fingers crossed they find something more soon.

Well finally a break in the case or a lead! I pray with all my heart that this will be the straw that broke the camel's back! I'm sure it must be easy to track down this car? It really sounds to me like it was a stranger abduction for sure. Let's also pray that somehow, Sierra can be found alive. Miracles can happen.

Well i guess what I said when the news about the cuffs first came out was true. Absoultely nothing to do with Sierra.
Now I say they need to start looking in SOCAL just a hunch.

ITA, on both counts.

It would seem likelier that the 'wanted' red Jetta is no longer in the immediate area.

That black hood should make it easier to recognize! I hope this is being plastered EVERYWHERE!

Im sure the weeks it took to get info on the car were over a long time ago and they have been working 24/7 since then to find this car. I'm sure they didn't release it publicly because they were working on it on the back end.

Now, it's thankfully being released because they now need our help. There will now be the entire public on the lookout and the chances of someone knowing something about this car is almost guaranteed. I live near by and I guarantee that the public will be on it! I know the car is probably long gone, but all people need in this case is a little bit of info and just look out perp.

I have always believed that if she was kidnapped, she must have been incapacitated in some way and that would explain why no witness placed her in the car. Of course, this car could turn out to be not related, but to have hope for SL and for her family is worth so much right now.

Deep down inside I keep hoping that she ran away and is living some fantasy life somewhere and this news, although encouraging in that we may find her, it's also somber in that we have to think of her as being taken against her will.

Good luck to all of us novice investigators out there who will find where this car is and to whom it belongs!!

:seeya: Thank You for this latest update with respect to this RED vehicle ...

:waitasec: I know there are lots and lots of cars in California ... But can LE search the Motor Vehicles Records for any red Volkswagen Jettas ... and go from there ?

I know it would be tedious ... but ya never know ...

Most of the articles said it is close to the picture released...if it has a black hood it could also have other parts replaced/not be readily identifiable as a jetta.

I am just guessing but I think they need help from the public and that is why it is being released. I would think they did all in their power to see if they could see plates (they said they could not) and also tried to trace the vehicle.

I am thinking back to the Pat Kimmi case where the abduction vehicle was traded at a dealer, parts re-sold back to the perp, and than burned... so putting this info out to the public can be helpful along these lines as well jic the perp/perps tried to get rid of the car, etc

I hope someone can remember someone excessively cleaning a car like this, buying new parts for a car like this, junking a car like this, etc etc etc

I am alos thinking that the windows might have been tinted . Which would explain no one seeing Sierra in the car. If the car is a teenagers or early 20s it is now a days hip to have th IMHOe windows tinted.

I live in this area, have all my life. This is so close to home that I haven't posted until now. There is a creep out there and IMO this wasn't his first abduction...going to post a link to another attempt just a few miles away...
well ok, I can't post the link - sorry, kinda embarassing, but if you google search "attempted abduction willow glen" you will find the article. Same description of car - dude used a stun gun. This is very close to Sierra's home - about 30 min or less travel time...there are more attempts in the area...will find and post.

It's just possible that the canvass of the neighborhood produced some comments about such a car too. I can understand the tactical switch to alerting the public in regards to this vehicle description. If done too early, the driver/owner might have immediately resorted to a change of cars. The computer sort will help a lot. I wonder how common this Jetta is. The registrations should be v. interesting.

SO TRUE!!!!! I was just thinking the same thing. Here's the link:

What I don't understand is that the Sheriff's Office determined that there was no connection to the Sierra LaMar case. How could they determine that, especially with the car having a similar description to the one they are releasing today?
