Santa Clara County sheriffs deputies say they have now recovered a red mid-90's VW Jetta wanted in connection with the search for missing teenager Sierra Lamar.

"The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the public’s response by providing information on the vehicle in question," officials said in a written statement. "Investigators do have the vehicle in their custody but are asking the public to report any sightings of this vehicle and/or occupants during the time surrounding Sierra’s disappearance."

I wonder if this is the one someone found listed for sale a few pages back... NC somebody?

I agree and am totally not surprised they found it so quickly...only wish they had released the info sooner. It was a distinctive car...

I wonder if they found the car abandoned.

It seems they may not have found the owner/driver yet but I hope they have and are just keeping that quiet now until they can interrogate them.

The association between the red, mid-1990s Jetta Volkswagon and the LaMar case is based on March 16 surveillance footage from residential cameras near the LaMar home, from nearby businesses and from the bus stop Sierra would catch to Sobrato High. Time and again, the red Volkwagon was captured near the LaMar home and other areas of interest, like the fields where Sierra’s cell phone and Juicy bag were found.

The article also mentions that although the jetta was identified early on, the investigators essentially put 2 and 2 together that it could be connected within the last week or 2 after seeing the car again and again
