I agree with you. One doesn't suddenly go hunt young girls and murder them or stun people and rob them. You're either of a criminal mind or you're not.

Agree. I'm sure his criminal behavior can be recollected back to an early age. There will probably be people stepping forward from his past talking about various levels of assault/abuse, even siblings, cousins, etc. This type of behavior doesn't just manifest overnight.

One question that's been racing through my mind is, how does one simply kidnap, rape and murder a child and then return back home and easily pretend like nothing ever happened? How can you carry out such an act and go back to your own daughter, knowing that you've just taken away someone else's daughter and not be remorseful or feel guilty at all? I suppose the answer to that would be that you're mentally ill, crazy, evil...but still, I just don't understand and probably never will.

I can't imagine what this nutcase would do if he found out his daughter had been murdered.

He has an altered sense of reality. He does not perceive females as human beings, but rather just objects to be used and disgarded. He disgards them so they can't "tell." He truly does not connect that these are real people at all. He has no empathy, and is uber narcissistic, which explains his supposed devotion to his daughter. He sees himself in his daughter, (his own reflection), and that satisfies his narcissism. Just my amateur opinion.

Reading the Mercury News about his family was revealing. They are certainly in protection mode, which is understandable, I guess. The part of him growing up in the woods with all the wild animals was a bit spooky. I saw the picture of the frog on his MS page and it reminded me of the book I'm reading. The person, who was a sociopath, as a boy caught frogs and put firecrackers in their mouths and blew them up. Scarey!! I'm reading here too much, I guess.

Interesting Old Steve. Yes, he certainly has strong ties to Safeway; an association I'm sure they'd like to distance themselves from. Speaking of which, I find it VERY odd and disturbing that none of his co/ex-workers called LE. (Or did they?) They had the guys freakin poster up on their doors (and it REALLY did look like him), and who wouldn't have known about that car? What's going on there Safeway people?!?!?!?!

As far as a bargaining chip - yes, he'll avoid the death penalty if he tells them where she is. But why should he do that? No one ever gets executed in California anyway. Further, I've been told it's much cheaper just to "house" them for life vs. the expense of multiple appeals, etc. Not sure on that, but that's what I hear.

I think she is most likely in the woods or in the water. I don't think she would be in the Safeway dumpster because of a few things. One, there are probably lots of surveillance cams around there and he would know that. [ even though that didn't stop him from attempting assaults there.] But also, he probably knew that lots of people dumpster dive in grocery dumpsters. There would be too many people looking through there potentially. imo
