Since AGT's parents divorced in 1990, we don't know how often or even if AGT saw his father because he would have been a toddler. Dad was apparently more interested in the daughters. AGT's brother died in his late 20's of alcohol abuse in Mexico. This family has had its issues, and I am not surprised AGT was so troubled. IMOO. No excuses, however.

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/south_bay&id=8733195 This ABC News report fills in some details regarding the history between Genaro Garcia Fernandez and his daughter. His adamant denials as the assaults continued over years are of interest. Antolin Garcia-Torres exerts himself to deny before his family any wrongdoing in our case. Apparently G. G.-F. has reversed himself.

A very young Garcia Torres heard about the accusations during a family confrontation when the abuse was happening, but at the time, Garcia Fernandez denied everything by swearing on a Bible before his family.
Ozgur says abusers are often convincing. "They will swear to God, they will swear on their family, they will swear on their mother, they will swear on everything, and that denial is very, very common," he said.
Detectives say last year, Garcia Fernandez confessed to the crimes in a recorded phone conversation and even wrote a letter of apology to his victim. In powerful testimony Wednesday, the now-adult woman said she came forward last year because she was afraid another generation of young girls in the family could become victims as well.
"They have now a new family member that may be exposed to this risk that oftentimes does trigger a disclosure," said Ozgur.
The judge ordered Garcia Fernandez to be held to answer on 25 counts of child molestation, including seven counts of raping a young girl.

=============================

Antolin did the same thing with his mother. Total denial.
It is a repeat in history.

I doubt it had to do with his father, other than maybe learning about violence against women in the home, perhaps. And perhaps learning not to leave a living witness.

With all due respect to you cluciano63; I could care less about his motivations or his sick thoughts. Child molestation is unfortunately all too common, and most people don't go on to offend others. He's just pure evil (if he did indeed commit this crime as it certainly appears he did), and he should be sentanced to a Texas style chain gang for the rest of his miserable life. While we're at it, let's send his miserable father along with him.

Finally, I was originally sympathetic to AGT's mother because she seemed to handle herself well, and not make excuses for AGT. But now that we know her daughter was molested for NINE YEARS, I want to know what the H*LL is wrong with this woman!?!?! I do NOT believe she didn't know this was happening. What type of a woman let's this happen to her daughter? Dear God, this case gets more repulsive as more facts come out.

Further, I am now convinced that Sierra isn't the only deceased victim. She's just the one we know about. I hope LE is taking a very hard look at missing persons/unsolved murders that fit his m.o. She can't be the only one....

I was not making excuses, I was refuting that this had anything to do with his father. But he may have learned from his father's arrest that it is not a good idea to leave witnesses who can talk.

Yes, rapist often know the penalty is life, so they will dispose of the "object". They don't see these woman as humans, just things to use and dispose. They completely lack empathy, and rarely show remorse.

I can't believe they haven't found Sierra. Are they still searching and if so how far out?

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/south_bay&id=8692857 In paragraph 5 & 6, the victim (A.-G.-T.'s sister) is said to have been so wounded that family members had to carry the child from place to place. I don't like to revisit these details but add this aspect of the case against Genaro Torres Fernandez to support rosesfromangels in that his wife had guilty knowledge of his crimes inside the household.

That is not comforting in trying to imagine she (the mother) would be the one to convince this suspect to tell where Sierra is...

In all the cases we have studied over the years. No matter what Forum you are involved with. How many of those cases had a situation where the crimial left items to be found ?
I know that in the case of Morgan Harrington the perp left a shirt draped over a bush far away from the area of body disposal. They do have his DNA. He has not been found yet although she was found in a creek on a large ranch. Found by the owner of that ranch.

But this case is unique ... A backback belonging to Sierra left within 1 mile of her home in an open field next to a field shed with ALL of her clothing inside "unless we have been mislead by LE " They have already done this for their own reasons.
Her blouse, Bra, Sweater,Underwear, Pants, Socks, Shoes. and Folded.
Suspect DNA on the clothes. A signiture of sorts. And he prolly knew it.

So... did he strip her there ? or someplace else. ? Did he force her to remove and pack her own clothes at that shed area at 7:30 a.m. in the cold morning of march 16th 2012 ?
I find the concept of LATER coming back to the shed hard to believe.
If true, is that arrogance ? Or ignorance.
There should be evidence of that at the shed if he attacked her there.

A cop told the news that LE does not need the public help to solve this crime. Of course that cop is not thinking about finding Sierra. Only to solving the crime. "He did it and He is in jail for it." I get insult by that because it is equal important that we find Sierra and return her to her family.

I don't believe this is a sophisticated criminal...he is a 🤬🤬🤬🤬, IMO. I still believe he left the bag later, in a careless manner once he realized he forgot to leave it where he left Sierra...I am not giving him credit for being cunning, etc...he caught Sierra totally off-guard, unlike some of the others who got away, so he was able to take advantage of her in a horrible way. They are still searching, there was an article just the other day...

MORGAN HILL, Calif. —
Volunteers gathered at a school in Morgan Hill Saturday morning to continue searching for Sierra LaMar, just two days before the four-month anniversary of the missing teen’s disappearance.
Volunteers have been meeting at Burnett Elementary School in Morgan Hill every Wednesday and Saturday morning, looking for LaMar for almost the same amount of time that she has been missing. more at link: http://www.ktvu.com/news/news/crime-law/search-continues-lamar-four-months-after-her-disap/nPs8F/

I have thought all along that he forced her to strip and she was the one to neatly fold her clothes into her purse. Also, I was shopping at Macy's yesterday- Juicy Couture purses cost at least $200 each, so I doubt she carelessly threw it out the car window, and same with her phone- he did those things IMO.

She must have been trying to buy time.. Probably thinking she could talk him down.
I wish she would have run ..
From what I read.. There are witness to his vehicle in that field. But nobody seems to know direction of travel once leaving the field.
From that field .. East or West or 101 south. All possible.

This story just keeps getting sader and sader each time I come here. I to God they find her so the family can at least bury her with some respect and have a place to mourn.

I found this over at Blinks Site.
Credit to poster Silvia for posting it.
It puts an explanation point on Sad. Try to remember that when reading this that the area is Not a gang ridden area. But an area if nice people and family.
This shows how troubled some of the kids are in todays world from a perspective of a teacher at Sabrato High. A very nice public school.

“These violent delights have violent ends.” – Shakespeare
It’s no secret that it’s been a rough year at Ann Sobrato High, where I teach. We’ve endured more tragedies than a school should ever have to, all in one year.
In November, we lost a dear student, Tara Romero. She was gunned down by gang members while waiting for a ride home with her friends. I had Tara last year when she was in 8th grade. I had her two girlfriends too. And her cousin. This year, one of her friends who was shot was in my class, and never returned to school. The other friend, whose mom died while she was in a coma because of the shot to her abdomen, returned to school and was placed in my class. She spent a couple of days just crying. In class. And didn’t show up most other days. And then there’s Tara’s cousin. I had her last year, and this year. She’s a bright, beautiful girl who understands more about how the world works than she should have to at her age. She struggled. She struggles. I admire her.
Then there’s Sierra. I didn’t know Sierra, but I feel like I do now. I see her face every day. It’s plastered all over the school. Posters. T-shirts. Fliers. Everywhere. I think about her every day as I’m driving to work, wondering where she is. Someone created a painting of her name, and stuck it alongside Monterey Road. It’s pink and beautiful. The unusual thing about her case is the lack of closure. The trial will go on for a long time. Our school will still suffer. Every time there’s a development, students will be further scarred.
Another student passed away this year that I didn’t know. He had muscular dystrophy. He was feeling sick and went to the hospital, and then died. Just like that. It was the third or fourth time that I heard my principal, Debbie Padilla, who is always calm and seems unshakeable, speak over the loudspeaker, stifling tears and sobs.
And then yesterday. The last day of school. I thought we had made it to the end. We survived.
Orlando didn’t. Orlando was a junior in my freshman English class. He knew he had screwed up his freshman year and needed to pull it together this semester. And he did. He wasn’t the perfect student, but he was honest. He participated in class, wrote poetry whenever he got the chance, and had the most charming smile. He was such a nice kid, and he knew I adored him.
He told me in April that he had attempted suicide earlier that month. He was absent for a couple days because he was in the hospital. It broke my heart. I said I was glad he was back, and to let me know how I can help.
Last week he turned in an essay about Romeo & Juliet for one of his last assignments. I let the students choose a topic that was interesting to them, and he chose to write about why Shakespeare has the two star-crossed lovers attempt and then commit suicide. He wrote about his experience, and explained how he knew now that there are people who care about him and that he’s not alone. On Wednesday, I returned his essay to him with a note that thanked him for sharing his experience, and reminded him that my classroom is a safe place for him. Always.
On the day of the final he asked if he could take the final in the principal’s office. I know he’d been spending a lot of time there recently, not because he was in trouble but because he was receiving support from Ms. Padilla, the principal. I felt kind of bad when I reminded him that his final in my class was a trial and he had to be present. He was playing Romeo in the trial, after all, and we couldn’t have a trial for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet without a Romeo. He participated in the trial and did a great job. Though I’m kicking myself now for choosing him to be Romeo, even though he requested the part.
Orlando committed suicide yesterday. I don’t know the details. I just know that I saw him the day before, smiling. I just know that I expected to see him next year, and hoped he would be placed in one of my senior English classes. I just know that other teachers cared too. I just know that I had to hear my principal stifling tears and sobs again, this time over the phone. I just know that every time my phone rings after hours and it’s a call from Morgan Hill that I’ll always have a jolt of panic – what now?
I just know that I left the school yesterday relieved and exhausted that I had completed my first full year of teaching and I didn’t feel like a failure. I felt tired, exhausted really, but I had a sense of accomplishment. Then I got that phone call and the adult in me said, “That’s just the way it is,” and the child in me said, “But the year is over; that’s not fair.”
The thing that haunts me about all of these kids is what they must have been thinking or feeling. The terror the girls must have felt in Tara’s last moments. Sierra’s fear. Orlando’s loneliness and depression. Kids shouldn’t have to feel those feelings. I think of Tara’s family. Sierra’s family. Orlando’s family. I think of their teachers. I think of the empty chairs in the classrooms that represented a young, intelligent, vibrant beings who were torn from our school through violence.
And I think about how fairness is so important to teenagers. They know when things are unfair, and they will fight for fairness. For justice. They’ll fight with words. With fists. Whatever they need to do to get their point across because they feel like no one listens to them. Like they have no effect on the world. And this year, Sobrato students have nothing to fight. They just keep feeling people being torn from their lives, and they can’t do anything about it. Most adults know that we have no control over outside forces like these. We know that life isn’t always fair.
But that’s a lesson Sobrato students are learning too early, and that isn’t fair.

Sierra's purse and books were "wedged between a building and a big cactus" at Laguna Ave and Santa Teresa.

Again here is a statement of Facts.
http://www.scscourt.org/general_info/news_media/garcia-torres.shtml

There is Research, and then there is Searching ...
To me they go hand in hand in a case like this one.
Thank you for your opinions and Research as you never know, Something you find in research might just take searchers to an area where they can find her.

The Juicy bag by the shed, behind the cacti, near Mama cat and her kittens... IIRC that shed was hangout used for ? by local teens..
One thought is that someone found the Juicy bag elsewhere and placed it there figuring it belonged to a teen who lost it... kinda like leaving a hubcap you find propped up again a telephone pole so whomever lost it will see it... in this case the cacti would protect it a bit from the cats.. Maybe even figured it belonged to whomever was feeding the cats, if the bag was found in proximity..

Another thought is that since AGT collected scrap metal, he left it there to come back to, but then why didn't he hide it? Maybe wanted someone to see it an take it, so that person would become connected to it as a ruse?

I think he was hoping someone else would stumble upon it and steal it (if he wasn't leaving it there to go back and collect) so then they would be connected to the crime not him. I don't really think someone found it and thought it was lost because Juicy bags are expensive and feel like they are well sewn/put together/etc and it seemed like Sierra had a lot of items in her bag especially after her clothes somehow ended in there folded up. Has it been confirmed if her shoes were in the bag or not? I remember reading somewhere she was wearing grey shoes but then I kept seeing photos of her red shoes. Also I feel like her $ and medication/makeup/wallet/clothes/etc would have been looked through for anything "good" to take or maybe to identify the owner to return (if someone thought it was lost) and that items would have been stolen. Blah sorry just thinking out loud!

I don't think the shed was a hang out, I think that's a theory that has been floated. There are photos of the inside of a shed and if it is the one in question, it is filled with junk.

I don't think we can deduce for certain what he would have done with her belongings. Maybe the crime was over quickly and uglier than he wanted it to be and so he spent time with her belongings instead of with her. The "hiding" spot could be a misguided attempt at having them not found, or having them found for a reason, or left there to be retrieved or to visit them, who knows. I think it is likely he perhaps didn't even have a conscious thought as to why he did what he did. We sit and try and rationalise but these actions are not rational. Why did I just eat 2 cakes when 1 is plenty, and none better for me? It was appetite and greed and pleasure and no thinking involved apart from finding an available spot outside the bakery and knowing I had enough money in my purse.
