Don't know if this has been mentioned... there is a bus stop at the intersection where the bag was found... Laguna and Santa Teresa. One would think that at 7:00 a.m. on a weekday, there would be commuters waiting for a bus. Or, at the very least, a scheduled stop. I hope LE is talking to the driver and riders on that route. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if the bag was placed there later.

About the bag. A couple of things bother me. One, I don't think a 15-year-old would pack undergarments if she wasn't planning an overnight stay (my daughter would NEVER put undergarments in a bag she was taking to school... she'd arrange to get her things later). And if she was planning an overnight stay, wouldn't she have a hairbrush, toothbrush, etc.?

I fear the clothing may have been what she was wearing that morning, placed there later, and with some "trophy" items missing. UGGH, I hate typing that.

Was it a SHIRT or Sweatshirt she was said to have been wearing, then was found folded up? If it was a sweatshirt, that item is one that she could have removed before she walked out of the door due to temperature. You, know, throw on a sweatshirt over what you are wearing in your house- then take it off and put on a jacket for outside. She seems pretty fashionable and I can see her not wearing the sweatshirt to school with her fancy purse.

As the search for the 15-year-old Morgan Hill high school girl moves into a second week, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the neatly folded T-shirt found inside Sierra's bag had a San Jose Sharks logo on it.

But because Sierra's tweet only captured a small portion of the shirt, investigators can't be sure it was the same shirt located inside Sierra's Juicy-brand bag found at 1 p.m. Sunday, according to Sgt. Jose Cardoza.

Yes, what I have been trying to get out there all along with so much resistance. This may look like farmland on your google maps, but if you lived here you would understand.

I don't know if this is random or anything else at this point, I was just hoping that the sleuthers here would stop assuming this is some vast wasteland, because it is not. I am going to drive over there tomorrow. A short 15 minute drive from my house... not into the rural abyss.

I live close by too. It is more rural than Fremont and where her house is it is rural. It is typical agriculture for the central coast. Farm land, homes, farm land, business, farm land shopping center. Yes it is on the edge or urban areas.

Some what of a side note, but for any here who live in the area and are thinking about or have already gone out looking for her....

Please take a few minutes to read over info on forming a community search at www.4themissing.net. There is a lot of good information as well as downloadable forms to keep things organized.

While LE is not taking volunteers (and I understand why) there is nothing to stop people from looking in other public areas for her. It is very important though that things are documented and preserved so that if something is found there is a paper trail of not only where it was found, but WHO was out there.

Ugh...all the discrepancies don't leave me with a good feeling.

Was the pic from that morning or not?
Was the pic sent to her mother?
Was the pic sent to a boy?
Was this the 7:11am text to a "friend"?
At first it was a tshirt in the bag...now a sweatshirt?
At first it was clothing only...now we have heard possibly books too?
Did she normally also carry a book bag? Why hasn't this been mentioned so people could be looking for it?
What shoes was she wearing? I have read she normally wore red converse. Were those missing from the home? Were they in the bag?

Do facts keep changing or does the media have it wrong?

At her other school.

But, I keep mentioning the cheerleader pic because it looks
like someone else.

Because of the two pics below, it is very easy to make comparisons.

:fence:

There's an article where 3 girls from 3 schools talk about her being a flier on the Black Diamond team since September. I can't figure out how to link it on my phone.

I think some of the confusion with the rural part is different opinions on what rural is. Having lived places where my closest neighbor was more than 10 minutes away driving and a store was 45 minutes away, I don't consider the area rural. However those who live in a city see a house nestled back in a court as rural (even though it is 5 minutes from 3 grocery stores and multiple starbucks, Targets, whatever). Perspective here can make this difficult, kwim?

I was just about to link this. Here it is :)

http://www.morganhilltimes.com/news...cle_6739b022-7485-11e1-93a8-001a4bcf6878.html

LaMar’s friends and teammates from the San Jose-based Black Diamond Elite all-star cheer team described the teen as an energetic and athletic cheerleader.

V******* Yanez of Gilroy High School, K*** Redmond of Santa Teresa High School and M***** Ross of Oak Grove High School have cheered with LaMar since September. They attended the Tuesday night vigil wearing T-shirts with pictures of LaMar printed on the front with “MISSING” in bold lettering.

LaMar joined the team in September and was connected to the squad by a friend of hers just before she moved to Morgan Hill. A cheerleader at Washington High School before transferring to Sobrato, she is a “flier,” or the teammate at the top of a stunt who is lifted or thrown in the air, on the Black Diamond team, the teens said.

Back in the day we used to call a sweatshirt a "jersey".

Sharks are ice hockey...right?

The pics show her wearing a long sleeve v-necked Jersey. Maybe she had it on over something else?

  • #396
I really wish the media would get their story straight what was found inside the bag. A sweatshirt jersey or t- shirt?

  • #397
How do they know she was wearing the jersey/sweatshirt?

I agree the phone I feel was tossed out pretty immediately as the perp was leaving. The grass was very thick because it is farmed for sod or golf courses and had a thick soil base under neath so for the phone landing it would be like landing on foam IMO. The purse I am not sure. I feel like it was place more carefully.

I'm sure when the news originally came out regarding the bag, it was stated the bag was "secreted", suggesting it was hidden. Can't find any headlines stating that now.
If it is true, that would explain why the searchers didn't find it at the same time as the phone. Maybe it was hidden in a drainage pipe along side of the road.

I'm having trouble finding links to this team in general.
I found one by that name but it appeared to be pee wee squads!

Is there one you found that lists the roster for 2011-2012?

TIA
