Rosesfromangels I think they tried this

Well, perhaps the delay is to encourage the defendant to rethink that option, or face the gallows. He would be smart to take the plea, but frankly, I want to see his mother and wife on the stand. IMO and speculation only, there is a high probability they are complicit; especially the wife. I can't forget the horrid things she said about our dear Sierra. Such vitriol.

So will AGT's lawyer be ready in six weeks? I doubt it :(

Snip -

The lawyer for Antolin Garcia Torres told the judge he needed at least another six weeks to prepare for the murder trial. The district attorney is seeking the death penalty in the case.

Torres is scheduled to return to court April 8 for another trial setting date.

The court on the 8th of April will be the same time and room

Thanks everyone for the updates about the case. I do read but rarely post.

Let me ask a question please?

I see some saying he should take the plea? Has the DA offered a plea in this case?

If so, I am indeed surprised. The DA has to have monumental evidence to prove his case or he would not have ever asked for the death penalty in the first place so I am confused if he really offered the kidnapper/murder a plea deal.

If that is true would someone be so kind as to put a link where that is discussed?

TIA

@oceanblueyes as far as I am aware they have tried that he won't tell.

Hopefully because it is now getting into the general time frame when death penalty cases come to trial. Usually within 3-4 years of the crime.

Thank you. So they did pursue a plea with him? Can you tell me when that was done and which MSM article it was in.

Thank you also for replying.

Great question, OBE.

In cases where there is no body a plea offer is often made in hope of recovering the victim. I have no idea whether or not that has been done in this case but it would surprise me if the DA has not approached this perp with an offer in exchange for information leading to recovery of Sierra's body.

I don't recall a plea deal ever being discussed in MSM. FWIW, I cannot find anything in my archives. I believe it has just been an assumption if AGT gave up Sierra's location the prosecution would make a deal.

Yes, my understanding as well (no MSM about a plea).

What exactly does a hands free doctrine mean?

It means he will be shackles free or handcuffs free

That doesn't seem prudent. He's desperate, and dangerous IMO.

Yes indeed, you and I have both radared in on the "mothership" from the get go. He certainly felt "safe" enough (ironic) to allegedly attack women in the parking lots; why wouldn't he feel "safe" enough disposing of one there? (Large dumpster, etc.)
I consider this a very strong possibility.
I wonder if cadaver dogs or luminol have been used at this now infamous location. I'm sure the SW people wouldn't want that, but it should have been done....long ago.
We think alike on this. Considering he went so far as to buy the bleach and turkey baster at the supermarket, I feel he used it some way to make poor Sierra disappear or hide her for awhile - be it dumpster, freezer..... I'm also thinking -- no mention of his buying any other supplies he would have needed.. .. Hmm, goes back to your thinking his wife might know something since perhaps blankets, etc. might have gone missing...

We never could get answer to the question of how much/extensively was the supermarket searched.

Where did he get the rope from

I had this instinct about a freezer for a long time. I have family in Morgan Hill, and according to them the locals tend to believe her remains were deposited in a dumpster. The fact he was a scrap collector aligns with that hypothesis.
