@Nutkin - Sierra's home in Morgan Hill is *very* close to the outlet stores in Gilroy where they would undoubtedly have "Juicy" purses.

I couldn't find it either. I wonder if they have "outlet" stores. Or, I wonder if they have the really expensive purses like this at a store like Ross. I know they do have some sort of high-end stuff.

I found a "knock off" site online.

I think some girls are born fashion plates. My daughter had definite fashion preferences as early as age 2.

I think it would also be difficult to determine if there were missing clothes considering that she also visited her father. When my kids would go see their father, sometimes they'd come home with the clothes they took and sometimes they wouldn't. Some clothes I'd never see again.

Have been praying daily for Sierra, and will be joining the volunteers in Morgan Hill tomorrow or Thursday. I understand hundreds of people showed up today!!! When I hear stuff like this, it restores my faith in humanity.

Here are my present thoughts and impressions...I absolutely think the tasing incident that happened in San Jose this past Friday is related to Sierra as well. I am very disturbed that media coverage isn't raising the red flag and asking EVERYONE in San Jose who knows someone who fits the description with that car to call the police, and most especially if they have been acting weird the past week or so. (Not showing up for work, gone at strange hours, etc.) If she has been held, there is still a chance she is alive...but the clock is ticking fast. The media needs to put a call out to the public in SAN JOSE, not just Morgan Hill! A similar incident occurred and any reasonable individual could see the tie in! People in SAN JOSE need to be looking for this suspect!

If the incidents are related, Sierra likely wouldn't still be alive if he was attempting to abduct another victim.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara County Sheriff Sgt. Jose Cardoza on Monday said there were no real updates to Sierra's case. But he did note investigators were aware of the many reported tips regarding other attempted abductions and possible sightings of Sierra around the Bay Area. So far, all of them have been unfounded, Cardoza said.

I think so. It tends to happen when there is a huge media uproar like this. People make up stories for attention.

I totally agree. I would have no idea what was missing or not missing in my daughter's 'closet, which actually extends from the closet itself to the chair, the end of her bed and the floor. And she and her friends are always wearing each other's clothes, which used to make me angry at the time.

Also, just because Sierra snapped a picture of herself wearing the Sharks sweatshirt that morning, it does not mean she was actually wearing it when she went out the door. I would drive my DD to school when she was 15 and sometimes she would be all ready to go and I would walk to the car, and moments later she would appear in the driveway in a totally different hoodie and different shoes. 15 yr olds change outfits at the drop of a hat, imo.

Absolutely agreed about the changes of clothing.

My niece suggested that Sierra may have sent the picture of herself to a friend to make sure they were wearing the same shirt or to make sure they weren't wearing the same shirt, depending on a multitude of factors I'm not sure I fully comprehend.

I think in this case, it would be quite easy for LE to tell that girl was attacked if it happened in any way that her mother describes it. I would also think that finding this man has become a very high priority in relation to Sierra's case, how could it not?
"This incident is very concerning to us because of the boldness of the suspect," said police spokesman Sgt. Jason Dwyer. "It is very concerning to us and we're asking for the public's help in identifying him and locating him."

Exactly. I believe someone also said the purse has hooks inside of it as well. I'm thinking similar to a suit case's hooks.

And I'm thinking the "neatly folded" comment was more LE speaking to the perp rather than giving information to the public. Because really, what does the public need that info for? It doesn't help them look for suspicious activity. It doesn't keep them safer. It is extraneous information.

My feelings as well. LE said it for a reason. I SUSPECT that there was something unusual there. The details provided (mentioning her underwear?!) were... unexpected. Note all the things that a girl might have in her purse that they didn't mention, they could have said she appeared to have had a change of clothes, but instead they made it a point to comment about her underwear?

WHY? What possible interest might Sierra's bra and panties hold for the public at large?

I suspect, key word there, that this was something of a communication between the perp and the police. I suspect that these were the clothes she was wearing, and LE knows it, probably for some obvious reason. And further, that these clothes were a message to LE and Sierra's parent's, and LE is responding.

Further, for what it's worth, the police response, jumping onto her facebook (as reported earlier) and all that, was shockingly quick -- which makes me wonder if there is not some additional information that they discovered early in the case. Or, perhaps a previous case.

Obviously I hope that I am 100% wrong on all of this, and that Sierra is hiding out at a friend's house wondering what to do.

Or maybe his thing is shoes? Or socks? Or fingernail clippings? A sexual sadist wouldn't necessarily be into the lingerie of their victims. They may not even be into the sex act itself. It is about power, domination, and control.

I haven't ruled out a stranger abduction for several reasons:

1) As comforting as it is to think "my kids know better" or "my kids take martial arts or self defence classes" the truth of the matter is that until someone goes through that moment of crisis, no one really knows how they will respond.

Training does raise the probability that the kid will scream, run, fight, etc, but it is no guarantee.

2) It can be relatively easy to lure someone within arm's length. For instance, if there was a woman in the vehicle, Sierra would probably not be as suspicious as usual. Or if the perpetrator had a paper map open and asked her for directions to an address close by.

3) If she saw an empty vehicle parked on the street, would she have been suspicious? Looking at the Google pix, it seems like the houses on that cul de sac are set back from the street and there was plenty of greenery to conceal someone lurking nearby.

2) and 3) are risky, sure. But predators tend to be risk takers, so that tends to rule out for me the idea that it would be "too risky."

So sorry of this has been mentioned- has it been confirmed if Sierra rode the bus at all that week? Maybe she walked to the end of the drive and was picked up for the past week- leading to the dogs not picking up her scent.

I hope shes hiding out somewhere. When does her current school go on spring break? When did her old school in Fremont go on break?
