Abductions are VERY rare and always have been...that is why they cause such a stir when they occur.

Good point about car and teens being a far more deadly mix than almost anything else. Thousands upon thousands die every year in car accidents. Yet no one is keeping teens from riding in cars, or driving them. JMO

This doesn't make any sense. She would normally leave for school at around 7:10am, so an hour before would be around 6:10. There were twitte posts and a text after that.

Do you think his quote was about something else and the media put it out of context?

[EDIT:]I have a feeling that what he was saying about "at least an hour before she normally left for school" was in reference to the last time anyone saw her, when her mother left for work.

On the page people are talking about how the girl who was almost kidnapped and the composite drawing looks familiar to a girl who is still missing and was kidnapped in 79. She was never found. They also are talking about a teen stalker who followed a girl one day from her bus stop asking her if she needed a ride and then was at her school the next day. This really frightens me. If her abductor is still around he/she and it is related ... he is getting very brazen. MOO MOO MOO

No, the video says "23 hours ago" and it looks like when they decided to change the "status" of the investigation.

I cant find it now, but before I had found a site with the full "oficial" videos of Cardoza talking to the press, along with Q&A. I'd really like to see what the context was here.

I saw them chatting about the 60 year old and possible Michaela role. I highly doubt that also the police here in the bay area have said they have had many reports that have turned out to be false reports. Right now hard to know what stories out here are true.

Twitter is the new what I used to call instant messaging, Only twitter can be done on almost any device

IM can be done on any device too. Before internet service was really popular on cell phones, they had the capability to use different IM applications.

This person does seem to be fishy to me as well. I researched and the girl seems to have joined twitter in Dec. (ODD FOR A TEEN) Didn't tweet much (ODD FOR A TEEN) Only tweeted Sierra for the most part (VERY ODD FOR A TEEN) Tweeted a few girls asking if they remember her (from another school or what not) then did not continue to hold a conversation or anything after they answered her. I find it interesting that she seems to have social issues and even tweeted she is scared of rejection from people at one time. This could all be a coincidence but it's still very odd. Especially since the last time she tweeted was the day before Sierra went missing then she abruptly stopped and started again on the 27th like she realised she had to say something but has NOT mentioned Sierra, she is clearly from the Bay SO SHE HAS TO KNOW SIERRA IS MISSING! why not tweet about finding her? I also noticed SHE STOPPED Tweeting again.

This girl is from the BAY AREA and seems to have for the majority of her small amount of tweets, tweeted to Sierra :/ Its kind of Odd that Sierra says they are going to the OF Store as if she has talked to her about it, but the others twitter doesn't mention a thing at all, so #1 either they talked about this via telephone, or #2 the other girl deleted the tweets.

this all just seems weird.

This situation really sounds hinky to me!

I hear ya. This person has my attention too. It could be a guy or a grown woman with issues.

Also, my DD used to IM people a lot. If she was friends with them first somewhere else she would instant message them and have longer convos.
[ I used to sneak in and read them while she was in the shower. lol]

Anyway I don't think there is any way for LE to access those. So she may have made plans with someone by IM/

Yes. Say I sold you a diamond ring or a used car and I was meeting you at a bus stop to bring you your purchases. Would I just leave a valuable diamond ring on the bench and assume you got it? No way! I'd make sure I placed it safely in your hands. Would I leave the keys in a car at the bus stop and assume you received it? No way!

My children are way more valuable than any material thing I could ever own, so why wouldn't I treat them that way and not take the risk of something happening to them? A 15 year old is still very young, and while I would leave one home alone with the instructions to not open the door or go outside, there are very few public places I would allow them to be alone.

I don't feel as if my job as a parent is to let my child make mistakes. I feel it is my job to teach them NOT to make mistakes and protect them the best way I can. Especially if that one mistake is one that separates them from me forever. It's just too big of a risk.

If you want them to be safe then they need to learn how to make choices and decisions on their own. imo And that includes allowing them to be alone is safe places, imo. I used to let my 13 yr old and her friends walk around the mall alone, while I was nearby in the same area. They had their cell phones but they walked around alone. They need to do that imo, so they can learn what to do. One time a man approached them and asked for help shopping for his daughter. They turned and walked away quickly. I was proud they did the right thing and they were proud of themselves as well.imo

As much as I don't think Sierra tossed her own phone...I don't think it can be said that she NEVER would do so, just because girls would never toss their phones...we don't know who tossed it or why, as yet, and we've all seen that people do things that they would "never" do...JMO. Anyway, it probably doesn't matter, just don't like to rule things out based on "a girl would never do that."

As a twitter user I find that account very innocuous. She hasn't very many tweets and they are often spaced days apart. The biggest gap was when Sierra went missing, and she may well have been posting about her gangbusters on facebook or some other media site or being involved offline. Especially if Sierra is her only real relationship on twitter. Something I don't find unusual either, I have one social circle on twitter, everyone else on facebook. My best friend joined and has only tweeted my a handful of times, her timeline would look similar. I notice she got narky tweets from someone after retweeting. Far out it'd suck having to navigate the school culture/hierarchy online as well. Rethinking my daughter's internet use.

Great find. This is absolutely horrible. So much for opportunistic and unplanned.

IMO this is a sex offender and IMO registered. It narrows things down with the victimology for LE if that is the case.
