I like this line of back & forth supposing about Sierra's bag, clothes, cell. So far, no possible scene fits an abduction perfectly but it does seem like inching closer. Whisperer is right, this whole thing with the bag is an anomaly. No wonder some think it was a plant.

I have a question. I apologize if this has been discussed already. I followed the case early on, then left, now I'm back, so I have missed quite a few posts.

Has it been reported why Sierra transferred schools in October?

I did a google news search but all I could find was that she transferred because the family moved. But that didn't make sense to me because her mother and father were divorced, correct? And her sister was a college student? So what family would that be referring to?

I'm confused.

Well, yeahbut, Marlene also said the pic was taken at 7:15.

So, she could be mistaken.
Have you seen LE say they were mistaken about the timestamp?

Meaning they used to think it could have been taken a day or two before, but whoops, looked at the timestamp and decided they made a mistake?

Tweet was sent 6:39 am

Text with photo sent around 7:11 a.m according to LE and mom. Mom only knows what LE tells her.

Only thing I ever heard about that was some "producer" from the NG show
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1204/04/ng.01.html

ZARRELL: What police are saying the shirt in the photo is very similar and resembles the shirt that was found in the purse, but, Nancy, police do not know when that photo was taken. The photo could have been taken a week or two weeks earlier. They don`t know if she took the photo that morning and then left to go to the school bus and was then abducted.

That is not the link I saw.
So it is out there in other articles, too.

GRACE: We are taking your calls in the search for Sierra LaMar.

And joining me right now is her mother. Marlene LaMar is joining out of Morgan Hill, California. Ms. LaMar, thank you for being with us.

MARLENE LAMAR, SIERRA`S MOTHER (via telephone): Yes. I`m glad to be here.

GRACE: Ms. LaMar, the timeline -- let`s go through that morning again. I`m sure you`ve been through it a million times with the police. What happened that morning?

LAMAR: Well, that Friday morning, I was getting ready to leave for work about 6:00. And I gave her a hug good-bye, like I always do, and wished her a good day. And she did the same to me, you know, said, I love you and have a good day. And I left at 6:00 o`clock.

And then I was told, you know, as far as -- the text that was sent was after 7:00, pretty much right before she leaves to take the bus, which is about 7:15 (INAUDIBLE) catch the bus. The bus usually comes about 7:25.

And she also took -- it was on her laptop, a picture of herself around the same time, close to the time that she texted her friend from school before leaving for the bus stop. And...

GRACE: So you have her alive and well at what time, about 7:10, snapping that photo of herself?

LAMAR: At 7:15 because she was always in a rush to go to school. So I`m pretty sure it was probably 7:15, as far as, you know, doing that stuff. It was after -- like, close to 7:15, when that -- as far as the timeline.

GRACE: Did she attach a message with the photo that she texted to her friends?

LAMAR: That I don`t know. But I know that the photo was taken right before she left for the bus stop.

GRACE: To Sheriff Laurie Smith with Santa Clara County sheriff`s office. Sheriff Smith, with that text -- let`s see the text again, please, that she sent out the morning she goes missing. She sent this around 7:15 AM. There it is. Was there a message with the photo, Sheriff?

SMITH: The photo is actually separate from the text. There was a text message to one of her friends, and her friend answered the text. It was nothing that was critical to the investigation. I think she was just asking her to bring something to school.

GRACE: Well, to me, that is critical in itself because you`ve got the missing girl asking a friend, Can you bring something to me at school, which indicates this girl is not a runaway. She was intending on meeting up with her friend at school.

And Sheriff Smith, what time was that text to her friend?

SMITH: I think it was around 7:11 to -- yes, 7:11. And we believe that she was planning to go to school based on the items that we found that we`ve discussed in the past, her school -- her school books. That`s why -- and after talking with all of her friends, she would have told somebody. We believe that it was an abduction.

GRACE: You stated, Sheriff Smith, that you found her school books. Were they in her Juicy couture bag?

SMITH: Everything was together in the one location that we found wedged between a building and a big cactus.

GRACE: I`m sorry, I couldn`t hear you. Wedged between a building and a what?

SMITH: And a cactus, kind of a bush is where we found it. And I don`t know if the books were actually in the bag or -- but they were all found together.

GRACE: Well, that`s interesting because it seemed to me, from my understanding, the bag had just been thrown. But now I`m hearing they`re wedged between a cactus and a building, as if they were intentionally hidden there. Is that correct, Sheriff Smith?

SMITH: You know, it`s hard to tell. It could have been thrown. It could have been placed there. We can`t really tell. It looks like either could have been done.

In looking at prior pictures I've seen, Sierra did wear makeup. While probably minimal because she had the complexion and the youth for it, she did wear it. I don't think it was a necessity to her aka she doesnt strike me as the type that needed to take it with her to school or even a last-minute overnight stay with a friend (while her clothes were).

Also, about the infamous picture that was snapped that morning: I always get ready for work now and when I was a teen in PJs or a robe. I suspect that the pic with that oversized shirt/sweatshirt was probably fresh out of the shower, hair, and some "makeup" done, looking cute before she changed into school clothes. The clothes are always the last thing to put on, and being a girl, might not be THE last thing to put on anyway before you leave the house( I still change like 161 times before leaving for work, sigh) so that last pic may have not been the last thing she was seen in, even though the timing may fit.

Sierra is petite and and could probably slide her arm through the carry handle and hike it up onto her shoulder. This would be a close fit to her body and under her armpit. This would free up her hands. I just cant see her carrying her books and binders in her arms.

JMO

IDK but I sure remember seeing her carrying her books. There weren't many. You couldn't do that when my son went to school. They could have used a forklift. The books were over 50lbs.

When I saw Sierra pic, it was a light load she was carrying.

  • #408
Yes, that is what was first said, but then Marlene said the photo was taken that morning, and sent to her friend. The police now know. They know it was taken on the computer and everything has a time stamp and record.

I dont believe in coincidences. She has these clothes on in the pic she sent at 6:39 to a friend and THOSE clothes were found that very same day thrown away along with her purse and books and Sierra is gone without a trace.

IMO

It is still not a fact the clothes found are the ones in the pic. All that has been said the clothes were Sierras .

Well, at least it is confirmed the books were with the bag. That indicates put there on purpose...staged...plant...whatever!

No self respecting Diva would use that strap. So she carried this in her hand with schoolbooks in the other.

My opinion is she didn't. It is not the type of bag you would carry going to school. Whatever happened to backpacks?

That bag bugs the heck out of me and just doesn't fit...nor do its contents.:banghead:
I could not agree with you more about the damn bag having bugged the crap out of me sense the get go..there is something just not right with it being in the case, period.. it does not fit in more ways than one.. so ill go ahead and say what's been in the back of my mind and the only way I can make the bag fit..

Please hold the tomatoes this is nothing more than a theory of the thousands already listed..

Here goes.. I am not going to even theorize on who the perp could be but rather just give the basics of how I see this purse fitting.. IMO it wasn't ever part of Sierras day.. meaning she never left with those clothes or books in that juicy bag.. IMO that juicy bag did not come into play until after Sierra had already been harmed and possibly even disposed of or hidden.. I believe the idea about the bag was an afterthought for staging purposes.. I believe that the perp in a desperation to make it look as tho she was either taken on her way to school or had runaway the perp grabs the juicy bag, puts the clothes inside, gathers the school books and goes out and randomly hides these items where they were eventually discovered.. they wanted these items to eventually be found so that it would point toward Sierra being abducted while en route to school.. or that it may even be assumed as some sort of runaway with the clothes packed.. regardless of which one of those the important point is that it completely redirected LE and everyone from the real perp, and the real crime..

Yes, obviously the perp would have to be someone with access to the home.. but I'll leave it at that.. in the above described scenario the bags purpose, the bags contents, and even the bags placement suddenly all fit together..

There it is IMO.. IMO its why we cannot make sense of the damn bag.. jmo, tho and I am making no accusations.. :moo:

Eta: it would also make sense for why her normal things weren't in the bag.. make up, keys, brush, wallet, etc.. because she did not pack the bag.. the perp packed it after the fact as a way to misdirect attention from the real perp and real crime to an abduction or possible runaway.. jmo..

Thanks for clarifying that.

Doesn't the last pic have her with red lipstick on. I consider that a bit much for school but Hey, I'm living in the 70's...

BTW..she looked gorgeous.

I would love to know who that picture was intended for!!! It looks like she's being silly in that pic compared to others I've seen of her. It's like she's sending someone a message of some sort. More personal, kwim? Anybody else get that same feeling?

It is obvious to me just from the three pictures on the Missing poster that comes up if you go to the websleuths home page, she is wearing eyeliner. And quite a bit unless I miss my guess.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

It could also be someone who recently moved away from Morgan Hill, or specifically moved away from Sierra's neighbourhood. Still intimately familiar with the area but no longer hunting in their own backyard, so to speak.

I think this is a very interesting idea. Apparently Rick and/or Marlene rent their house so it's likely others in the area are renters, too. So we have potential landlords, property managers, and tenants who may have come and gone in the neighborhood in the past 6 months.
