View the screenshot attached here. : )-

Squint, if you must.

Well the handles I see sticking up seem to be right on the other side of the white pipe?

I dont see a big cactus there.

Does anyone have a close up shot of the white large pipe that is seen on the property with the shed?

I don't remember the username, but isn't there someone here 'close to Sierra's age' that has mutual friends? If so, do you or your friends know which Juicy bag/purse she carried?

I don't want to speculate at all, but from the pic earlier it doesn't even seem the purse was "secreted" at all... I mean it's just standing up right there.

I think you are referring to me! I don't know what specific bag Sierra was carrying. I can try and ask? I do know one of her best friends has this purse and her and Sierra are a lot alike...

I think this link is the purse that Sierra carried... not one hundred percent but I will see what I can find out... I'll ask my friends!

I still seem to see the handles right behind the white pipe.

Could this be where the evidence tech just put their evidence collection tote down?

It just seems to be too close to the white pipe for it to be the JC purse and I see no large cactus around that handle sticking up.

IIRC, the white pipe is closer to the road and the shed sits some feet behind it.

It seems kind of unbelievable to me that the press filmed the discovery and managed to keep it a secret for 4 days. I wonder if this footage was taken after the discovery and the team, including the sheriff, was brought back out to the scene to see where the purse had been found. They could have placed any bag there to show the sheriff the approximate location where the bag was found.

IMO, we just don't know enough about Marlene's life to judge. We don't know why she moved Sierra to MH, we don't know how stressful her job is, we don't know how other relationships in her life are going. It's possible that she was already under stress from another situation before this happened. For all we know, she could even have a health-related issue.

In terms of Sierra, well, sophomore year is a tough time to change schools. I wouldn't want my daughter to have to do it, although there are things about the school system we're in that really bother me. But again, we don't really know what motivated the move. What we do know is that it added in driving time for Marlene, so she'd have less time to connect with Sierra.

Families move every day in this country. The adults are the ones who have to make these decisions, not the kids. Teenagers have to learn how to handle changes and hurdles in life. They need to know that there will be bumps in the road, and to either go around them or step over them and move on. I don't think Sierra having to change schools had a lot to do with her going missing. And if this move caused her mom a little less time with her, why would that be such a big deal? Most teen girls don't want to be close to their moms every minute. They love having a little freedom, a little more time to be on their computer or their Iphones, chatting with friends. I know very few 15 y.o.'s who want to hang with their moms all the time.

This is not directed at you, but I'm sensing that some are wanting to blame the mom because she had to leave for work an hour or so before Sierra left for school and probably didn't make it home for an hour or two after she got off the bus. I know of 5th and 6th graders who have to get themselves off to school every morning because both parents have to go to work early and get home late. There are 10 and 12 yr. olds known as latchkey kids, they get off the bus or walk home from school 2 hours before the parent(s) get home from work. A 15 yr. old should be capable of being by herself without Mom having to be there. What happened to Sierra had nothing to do with her mom's hours of work or drive time. Someone came along and took an opportunity to grab a young girl, and the rest is history. Whether it was someone she knew or a stranger, we don't know, but I don't think the mom should be blamed. This is not about her, it's about Sierra.

Divers search for Sierra Lamar in Morgan Hill reservoirs

News Video

On Friday, it will be exactly four weeks since the 15-year-old Morgan Hill girl vanished while on her way to school.

The reporter in this video says investigators made it very, very clear they are not looking for a body, but rather anything that will lead them to the missing teen.

I agree with you.

If LE is telling the truth that the purse was found wedged between a cactus and the building this is NOT the purse in question.

Because it is very clear that the white pvc? T-pipe sits way in front of the building much closer to the road. There is no way that it could be up against the building.

The reporters would have seen it for themselves if it had really been in that location. And that sure wouldnt be what I call 'secreted' away.

I think the purse is or could have been there somewhere but is not seen in any of the media photos. It is hidden from view when those shots were taken or already removed.

Marlene was speaking with NG when NG called it a pocketbook and that purse is not a pocketbook. It is a big honkin' tote bag. Marlene DID correct NG over the fact that her daughter went to the bus stop in daylight and not darkness.

I get the feeling, as a mom myself, that Marlene was trying to clarify that Sierra didn't have to go out in the darkness to catch her bus. She may be trying to assuage her guilt, etc.

Hmmmm.... that makes me want to say something I have gleaned from various FB's and comments under articles etc. And I do think it has already been mentioned here about the Hinky meter articles too. But the general consensus has been that dad was more connected and plugged into Sierra's daily life than mom was at times. Some of her friends said that mom was sometimes distant and distracted by her own life, making it hard to keep close track what was going on with Sierra. Some might say the social network posts would be some indication of that. I am saying this just as a way to explain why certain facts and descriptions are not coming out accurately. Like what she was really wearing, why she would or would not have those clothes packed, what the bag looked like, what might be missing from her room and closet, etc. Although i could never be able to tell anyone what was missing or not from my DD's clothing abyss.

Amen to that, regarding me and my DD's clothing, accessories, etc.

I don't think she ran away.
She didn't take her inhaler.

You have totally misconstrued my concern over the charger.
Mom says she usually takes the charger,
But, it's found in the home.

Am I to believe that some abductor came in the home and packed this bag
for her?

I can assure you, I do not.

I do not think she ran away either.

I do recall that a member of WS mentioned that there was a website advising runaways to leave behind things that they value so people will assume an abduction.

I know the mom made mention of her never leaving without her charger. My point was that the presence of the charger convinced Marlene that Sierra did not leave willingly, even though one can buy a charger for $5.

If she ALWAYS took the charger and you do NOT think a stranger packed her bag, why is the charger at home? Presumably if she packed the bag, the charger would not have been at home, it would be in the bag.

I consider it possible that she let a non-stranger into the house, and this person packed the bag or made her pack it. It seems like the sort of stuff a teenaged girl might take to school on a Friday (even the full clothing change) but not stuff SIERRA would have typically taken.

But the charger... If she ALWAYS takes it, and it was NOT in the bag and WAS in the house, did she really just "forget" (this happens) or is there some significance?

Why does she only hope to find a necklace or something?
I would think she'd only hope to find her daughter, the heck with a momento.

I thought the family was being discouraged from here on out to search.

I think she is hoping to find the necklace since it is pretty and will make her think happy thoughts about Sierra. At this point, she has acknowledged that Sierra is probably dead, and while she would love to find Sierra alive, she does not feel it is likely and would NOT want to be the person who actually finds the remains. And that is why family is not permitted to search.

The trick, said Klaas, is to keep LaMar's face in the news as much as possible. That's why Smith is such a valuable volunteer.

A week after his initial search, Smith brought a few friends – left tackle Joe Staley, quarterback Scott Tolzien and tight end Delanie Walker – and that attracted several news crews.

Walker, who helped search Saturday, said he and others were told to look for gloves, shoes, articles of clothing, any disturbance in the land – overturned dirt, a broken tree limb – that could be a clue.

Regarding Sierra's bag, the reason I am concerned about it is from a misinformation viewpoint. Misinformation about these small details that goes uncorrected is never good. For all we know, LE has discovered something different about where Sierra's scent ends and just has not updated the media or the public. And that would be important information because if Sierra did make it past her driveway it shows she could have been picked up on along the road, which would make me more open to a crime of opportunity than I am now with her scent ending just outside her home.

Not getting any information is frustrating for us and for anyone trying to help. But getting wrong information, or having some aspects change but we do not get updates of the changes, is detrimental to having the public know what to possibly look for. And many times crimes are solved by a lead that came from a citizen.

Also, the dimensions and style of the purse make a difference for me because if it was an open top large tote things would likely have fallen out if the bag was tossed. But a smaller purse would be stuffed and could be tossed without anything falling out. I am one who believes it matters whether the purse was tossed or placed. Maybe in the end it won't matter but for now even small details being wrong is a hindrance.
