Friday, January 16th:
*Hearings for both (@ 9am PT) - CA - Johntaya Alexander (21), Melinda Davis (57), Yamile Martinez-Andrade (21), Sergio Harris (38/gang member), Joshua Hoye-Lucchesi (32/gang member) & De’vazia Turner (29/gang member) (shot dead; shootings took place in the vicinity of the 1000 block of K Street; 6 dead & 12 injured, April 3, 2022, Sacramento). (4 of those wounded suffered critical injuries, the Sacramento Fire Dept. has said. At least 7 of the victims had been released from hospitals by Monday, 4/4/22) - *Dandrae Martin (26/now 30) arrested (4/4/22) & charged (4/22/22) with assault with a deadly weapon or firearm on person & convicted person carrying a loaded firearm. [these charges are no longer on court site-could be dismissed]. No bond. Plead not guilty. Sacramento County
*Charged (5/3/22) with 3 counts of felony murder (Alexander, Davis & Martinez-Andrade); enhancements for using a firearm. No bond.
CA - Johntaya Alexander (21), Melinda Davis (57), & Yamile Martinez-Andrade (21) - *Mtula Tashamby Payton (28/now 31) wanted multiple felony warrants. Person of interest in the shooting. *Charged (5/3/22) & arrested (in Las Vegas, 5/28/22) with 3 counts of felony murder, with enhancements for using a firearm. Left Nevada on 5/31/22, booked into Sacramento jail on 6/14/22. No bond. Plead not guilty. Sacramento County
*Charged with 1 count of murder/possession of a firearm by a felon (no bond), possession for sale (Marijuana/Hashish), possession of a firearm by a felon (no bond for either charge), corporal injury on spouse/cohabitant ($500K Bond), & 3 counts of making false statements representation to obtain benefit or payment (felony) re EDD fraud related to pandemic aid (no bond). No longer in the jail site 6/1/23. Sacramento County
*Smiley Allen Martin (27/now 29) Found dead in his cell 6/8/24 & charges were dismissed on 8/16/24.
Trial was set to begin in January, 2025 has been continued for later this year.
Judge Maryanne Gilliard presiding [will be retiring 6/27/25]. Defense attorney Reid Kingsbury, representing Payton. Defense attorney Linda Parisi for Martin.
