Homicide detectives probing the discovery of a human skull found west of Magic Mountain Parkway and Railroad Avenue hope DNA or dental records will reveal not only the identity of the deceased, but also what happened.

On Wednesday morning, shortly after 11 a.m., deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of remains found in the Santa Clara River wash.
----
“There is no apparent sign on the skull that would say it was a homicide. There’s no bullet hole, no sign of injury,” he said. “We’re hoping DNA or dental records will tell us more since, surprisingly, the skull had a pretty good set of teeth on it.

A cadaver dog was utilized, to conduct a thorough search of the Santa Clara Riverbed, near the South Fork Creek and Magic Mountain Parkway,” Deputy Grace Medrano wrote in a news release issued Saturday.

“During the search, additional human remains were discovered approximately 100 yards from Wednesday’s discovery of a human skull,” she wrote.

“It appears the two discoveries are related, but no determination will be made pending further investigation by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner,” Medrano wrote.

@ForceTen posted this in Bryce's thread last night (and I have no clue how to bring it over):

Posted Sunday on FB Find Bryce Laspisa

"The remains in Santa Carita are being investigated but the preliminary report indicates a much older person with extensive dental work."

Can we put Santa Clarita in title. I know it’s in Santa Clara wash but it’s not a widely known river and it’s 6 hours from Santa Clara.

Ahah. I was getting quite confused about why I wasn't finding any information in the Santa Clara media...

The remains could be that of Randy Cuddy who went missing from Apple Valley on Aug. 16, 2017.
He does have his own Web Sleuth page. I realize Apple Valley is quite a distance from Santa Clarita but it could be Randy.

Some info on Mr. Clark:

The detective probing the disappearance of a Woodland Hills man whose car was found abandoned outside a Valencia restaurant reported Friday that she has few clues to suggest what happened. Christopher “Critter” Clark, 39, went missing July 24. On that day, he had contact with his family in Reseda and, soon after that, he vanished.
...
Clark’s brother Caleb reached Friday at his home in Washington state, said a note had reportedly been left in the abandoned car, telling whoever found it could take whatever was left inside it.”
