That's an easy hike but the cliffs are close and if you get too close to the edge for a photo, there's always the risk of a fall. Bodega Head Trail

"...may have been hiking alone..."

These days I'm not sure which scenario to hope for in this case, 1. SB was hiking alone and vulnerable to risks of hiking alone in the wild, or 2. SB was with someone who is also missing and/or who might have done something to SB.

iMO.
Growing up in mountains in WA state I don't really that of that area as "the wild" but you have a great point - it's rugged, and beautiful, but it's close to town, shops, food, and people so you think it will be safe. But it's still nature, with cliffs, wind, unstable rock formations (possibly) and the two legged predators that exist anywhere. She probably just planned on a simple short hike.

And then there is the weather. This SFGate article speaks to heavy fog delaying initial searches overnight. Makes me wonder if fog rolled in while SB was hiking? And if so, did she get disoriented and lost, or worse, fell off a trail?

From her FB it would appear there is a significant other

ETA: Maybe not so fast, her profile pic is from 2018.
