FYI... I didn't call tonight. But I will, soon. Not sure what to say and haven't been as invested from the beginning to be convicted in my right to know. Lol. Soon, I will!

Kjac22 said that she was close to her family, so if she had no friends by choice, but was lonely, I wonder what constitutes lonely in her mind, if that was the case?
Maybe her lack of friends is not by choice, but yet Kjac22 said she has anxiety around new people so meeting new people sounds like it doesn't come easy for her, so I wonder, if she truly is lonely, why is she lonely?
IMOO.

I agree. I wish I could explain better what I meant about that particular time in my life. I felt lonely in spite of having close family, and being able to make friends when I wanted to. I had friends, but I had people tell me I seemed closed off and hard to get to know, and it wasn't intentional. I didn't have anyone other than family I felt like I could call at midnight with a problem, that kind of thing. It was still very easy to make small talk at the store though. I have no idea if that's how Susan is, but that's how I picture her from what I've read here.

Right, I didn't mean she would run these errands with people, my point was that she was out driving Every Day, not like she stacked up several errands and ran those every so many days, but Every day, so, to me, she seemed to like to get out every day, even if she was by herself. When Kjac22 mentioned her social anxiety and meeting new people, I took it to mean that she didn't even like being around people, even though she liked to go shopping at the Galleria mall. It was my perception of her from what he posted.
IMOO.

I'd forgotten that Susan also went to the Galleria. I've been there a few times and that place freaks me out! I'm quite a bit younger than Susan and I know it's a popular mall but for me it's way too chaotic, parking's a nightmare, etc. I have to psych myself up on the rare occasions I do go. I just can't picture someone who's generally anxious going there intentionally - meaning, I feel like maybe Susan is cautious, but not as fearful or anxious as I've been thinking.

Worried about a loved one in the area? Just a thought. :) Thanks for trying to help further her cause!

Yeah, I get a bit overwhelmed at the large mall near me, although I do go on the occasional weekday during school hours when there are no groups of teens to intimidate, lol, so maybe Susan did that too. I would never go on a weekend.

If Susan had hip surgery at a relatively young age, in her fifties, she may have suffered from chronic pain, which is my issue, and there is nothing like it to remove you from daily life and activities. Even friends get tired of it after a while, or you think they do. JMO

I don't go to the Galleria unless I have to... weekday, weekend, whenever! My sis and Dad love the place, so that counts as have to go sometimes...hehe. Otherwise I'd probably never have even seen it.

That's a good point about Susan's hip surgery being at a pretty young age. I grew up with a chronic muscle illness and man is it easier to explain when you're 10 or 11 years old as opposed to 30s. Or she could have chronic pain, as well... geez it makes my heart ache to think of all the ways she might be limited or might feel limited.

Just some random thoughts...

We are only hearing from one person's perspective that Susan had social anxiety/was somewhat of a recluse/etc...

Yet...she went out among the community most every day to run errands

she walked a (hers?) dog every day...

she shopped at the Galleria Mall ...

these three facts do not add up to a recluse (my words) to me...

I cannot remember how long Susan lived in Sun City...

I would REALLY like to know about her life in Nevada before she moved to CA...

I wonder what types of social interactions she experienced during the time she was raising her son... During the time she worked... Etc...

Having a hip replacement could be debilitating... Yet she got out and about in the community DAILY... So I do not get the feeling she was as "isolated" as has been suggested by the one person's perspective...

I hesitate to compare to myself... Because I am just one example...

But she runs errands out in the community a heck of a lot more than I do...

and I avoid malls like the plague... Too "busy"... Too much crowds... Etc....

and though the activities I prefer are mostly solitary... I am not a recluse...

this is just a lot of rambling JMO... MOO... And all that...

Additionally...(more random thoughts )...

since we have heard about a social, anxiety from one person's perspective...

I don't believe she took medication for it....

(Unless I have forgotten... And please correct me if I am wrong, Sleuthers)

Maybe TMI... But I take Paxil for my anxiety/depression issues...

and I have a feeling there are many people that do...

so I can't imagine doctors not being consulted by this anxiety while she was having a rather invasive surgery of hip replacement...

anxiety/depression would probably have been addressed with the doctor since it would be a major factor in her recovery/rehabilitation from the hip surgery...

JMO... MOO... Etc...

More thoughts... :sorry..:blushing:...

I am reminded of another recent case I have been following...

where a mother/wife/daughter/sibling etc. went missing...

Originally the reports indicated this lady was somewhat of a recluse... Caring for the home being her primary activity...

After some terrific sleuthing... It emerged that this gal was a caretaker of a disabled gentleman... A Sunday School teacher... A one time Girl Scout leader...

So this great gal was actually quite involved in helping her community.. And interacting with others...

but these activities had been eliminated from original reports by a certain family member... And for (what seems) an ulterior motive...

JMO...

=) True..

Do you know Nik - or anyone for that matter if there is an email address that I could address instead of calling? I can call and I will but if I can email -----------hmm, chicken's way out maybe but I'll fire it off today!

I haven't looked around for it. I guess if we knew the specific detective's name assigned that would help too.

Clu....are you my twin lol? ITA and can totally relate. I live for weekends so that I can do yoga throughout the day - it's the only way to relieve my pain. Errands are a chore so I run those first thing on weekend mornings - less people around.

Have any of the neighbors spoken out about knowing Susan at all?

I'm just thinking this morning -what the relevance is with her anxiety unless it was said to paint her as being someone who was unstable and who may have taken off.

Otherwise, I was under the impression that the husband/family believe that she was a victim of foul play.

When did the anxiety issue get introduced or was it something that we suggested here? (I also have had my own issues with anxiety but THANKFULLY have been able to keep my head above float)

Right, for her to be out and about every day driving, going places, changes the perspective about Susan in my eyes, regardless if she did these activities alone. The fact that she was out there running errands every single day tells me she is an active women. She might be shy around making new friends as Kjac22 has suggested, but she doesn't have severe social anxiety that I once perceived. Plus, after driving she walks the dog once or twice a day as per Kjac22 in his post, so if she was limited physically, it is interesting to note that she did quite a lot, even if she was restricted by a previous hip surgery. She sure does Not seem "weak and frail" to me as that craigslist post suggested....She's just tiny. If she was so weak and frail, walking a larger dog wouldn't come easily for her, and Kjac22 said the dog in the photo with Susan is his dog, but she has a similar dog, so her dog ain't no Yorkie. :)

Kjac mentioned in this post that Susan has a certain degree of social anxieties (plural) and that she is very shy.

In this comment from Kjac22, he says that Susan is a very private and shy person and she is uncomfortable outside familiar settings and routines.

In this comment he mentions Susan likes going shopping to Kohl's ,Target, Raley's, probably about Once a week with a similar time and pattern.

But yet in this comment he mentions that she usually runs errands Every Day Driving in her car. What ELSE does she do, if she usually goes Shopping ONCE a week, but yet drives EVERY DAY in her car?

Good find!

If she shops about once per week...

Yet "goes out" about EVERY day...

What are those other activities is she involved in?

(Except for walking the dog...)

Exactly, because after she Drives, then she comes Home to walk the dog once or twice a day, so it isn't like she is Driving herself with the dog in the car to walk the dog elsewhere, so what Does she do?

WILDCAT, from your post on June 14th you mention that you personally have been to two Roseville Neighborhood Association meetings and a neighborhood watch meeting within the last 6 months.
What have you seen around the city of Roseville and Sun City area of Roseville in regards to posters about Susan, and getting the word out about Susan? Do people talk about her in Roseville?
IMOO.
