Susan is in my prayers.

This is ridiculous, I know, but I recently watched an "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" show entitled "Don't Come Back Alive." The premise is that an older couple, husband and wife are struggling financially. Husband suggests to wife that if she "disappears" for seven years she would be considered legally dead and they could collect on insurance. He suggests she get an apartment in a distant city, etc. I'm not saying I think this is in any way likely in Susan's case...I just thought it was interesting. Many times truth is stranger than fiction.

Just read/skimmed through most of thread 1 and all of thread 2...

It is interesting to note that if the information is correct that Susan is a graphic designer, that she was uncomfortable using a computer and technology.
{snip}

If she was a graphic designer, if that is true--the move to computerized design could be a contributing factor to why she retired. I have a friend whose older father was basically shut out of the industry because he did not have the computer skills to work competitively anymore. Those design programs are not an easy thing to learn, and would be even harder for someone who's set in their ways or have been doing it the manual way a really long time. (Instruction is a possibility but that can get expensive.) I only graduated with a BFA in the early 90s, and there was only one class taught with computers! I actually learned to use rubylith to mask images. Things have changed so much in 20 years.

The wallet / car / purse scenario makes me think someone approached the car (possibly impersonating a police officer) with the story that a husband or a child was injured, 'come with me right now'--but I would assume that such a person would need to know her name.

It's all so dreadful. I feel for the family so much.

Does anyone else recall the graphic design reference or where it might've come from? (or am I losing my mind?) I've already spent way too much time looking, but will keep digging... driving me nuts that I can't find it. I was thinking it might help with pointing to where she worked, people she worked with, how long she was there and maybe any friendships formed... I don't know. Feeling so lost at this point, just trying to think of any direction to go in.

Also does anyone recall any ties to Arizona? I keep finding stuff about a Susan Jacobson who is or was in some type of design in Arizona. I really don't think it's "our" Susan, but then I ran across "our" Susan's missing info on a Google search and it included CA, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii as the states (http://projectjason.org/forums/topic/3625-missing-woman-susan-jacobson-ca-05012013/). Looks like it's maybe just a generic grouping of states, but running across the two things together got me wondering.

I must be missing something - or else I'm truly as technologically handicapped as I've always privately believed... How are you able to determine the date and time when someone resized an image and to determine what precise camera was used, unless you have the original edit of the photo? Most of us have a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or even later generation of a photo - I don't understand how you know this information? Is it truly that simple using basic computer functions readily available to everyone?

you (ok, people in general, as im not 100% certain how to) can even determine location from a photo.

You can find out photo info (and, I think, GPS data) from the embedded EXIF info. You can turn off at least the GPS tagging on smart phones, under privacy or location services settings.

I haven't heard anything else about searches being planned but I remember Susan's son said that a lady had volunteered earlier with her dogs and that they followed her trail to a place behind the Aquatic Center. I'm wondering if that area has been more thoroughly searched since that time by anyone in LE. Seems that would be a likely place to search.

I had the weirdest, most vivid dream about Susan last night. A woman called and wanted to meet me for lunch in a place with outdoor seating, near a parking lot. She didn't say who she was but said it was important. I took hubby with me since it all seemed really mysterious and a little sketchy.

We got there and this woman looked sooo familiar but I couldn't place her right away. She was very soft spoken and said "Hi, I'm Susan Jacobson." I was in shock! She offered to share her lunch with us, and we sat down with her. We had Mexican food (lol told you it was a vivid dream). After a little small talk I asked if she knew people had been looking for her and so many of us were worried about her and she said "I didn't know for sure." I told her about us here on WS. She was very touched. I asked "Where have you been?" and she said quietly "Just...away. I'm alright, I've just been away." I asked if her son and husband knew where she was and she said "I don't know. I don't think so." I asked if she planned to come back and she said "I'm not sure."

We also made small talk about the weather, her dog, hip replacement surgery (I have a bum knee, so we had a little in common there). I asked her what made her contact me and she said she got my name (she didn't specify how), and wanted to meet me. She made sure hubby and I left before she did so that we didn't see where she went, if she went to a car, etc. and apologized for being "so secretive" about it. I said I hoped to see her again and she said "me too."

I know it was just a dream, but man it was so vivid and detailed! It was oddly comforting, too. Just had to share it with Susan's fellow supporters here.

Yeah it was kind of crazy - I woke up going :what: myself!

I realize it's completely just a dream, but how cool would it be if even part of it could come true... to find out she's okay, for her to find out people care so much about her (even strangers!), getting to meet her. I'd love for even a fraction of it to be true. I'll keep on hoping.

Must have been a night for it. I had a dream about Robert Mayer--that I had logged into WS and learned that he had been found alive and well! Title had been changed to "FOUND!" etc. I woke up feeling so happy. I have yet to touch that thread yet but given that its title hasn't been changed... :(

Let's hope these are indeed precognitive! :please:

Wow that is awesome! I'm glad you woke up to such good news. That must've been an amazing feeling.

I cannot WAIT for the day when we all wake up to see "FOUND SAFE" by Susan's thread title.

Hear, hear!

Well, unfortunately, the reality was not quite so happy (he's still missing)--just thought it was awfully strange, two WSers having dreams about two missing people on our threads.

Oh! I misunderstood, I thought he really was found. Wow I can't imagine dreaming that you saw it, then logging and seeing it wasn't the case. What a huge let down. That is crazy coincidental timing for us to both have dreams like that though. Guess it shows how invested we get in "our people" on here.

Here's hoping they both get a "FOUND SAFE" soon. Along with a whole bunch of others...

LOL! I knew he wasn't found and I thought you meant that it was great that she woke up feeling great about her dream! :)

Well, it is, but having him actually being found was the part I thought was amazing! I should've done a little more reading before I posted.

I totally understand...

sometimes I read into posts what is not there because I want to believe it so much...

Just the nature of our caring and hoping...
