Thanks Lililbet! I like to think we're helping even when it seems impossible. I can drive to where Susan lives in 5 minutes... it blows me away that I can't do more to help find her.

Thanks for the info about Stephanie's case. I'll be reading up on her shortly.

I think you are helping, just by keeping this thread going. When people google Susan, they will find their way here. But it is very frustrating. Even with all we've been able to do for Stephanie, she's still missing and her POI boyfriend has left the area. But at least we know we've tried and we keep trying, as you are.

I followed Stephanie's case for the first few months and I'm ashamed to say that after awhile, when there was nothing to go on, I moved away from it to other cases.

Susan just has not have any movement on her case at all. Nothing. No news media, no vigils at the one year mark, no pleas for information, no searches, no help at all, from anyone. We just won't forget. There is a sadness about Susan's case because so little was done, so little was known, and no one appeared to be looking for her. It was like she disappeared one day and it was like "oh well", and then life went on without her and without a look backwards.

It's like we are the ones giving Susan a voice. We are the ones keeping Susan's existence alive. LE hasn't bothered to do anything to bring her home or to solve what happened to her or how her car got into Raley's parking lot that day. It's like everyone just forgot Susan. We didn't.

No worries about moving on from Stephanie's case. You can't be everywhere and there are a lot of cases needing help. I'm local and Stephanie is my daughter's age, so I just need to stay for the duration. And Stephanie has friends on the thread who need to know we haven't forgotten her.

Just the little bit of reading I was able to do here was heartbreaking. Poor Susan! I just don't understand how someone can disappear, leaving such a small personal footprint, and there is no one to speak for her except strangers on WS. I've come to the conclusion that some families of the missing have the inner strength and tenacity to bang the drum loudly and continuously for their loved one, and others just "don't have that card in their deck." Some people are pitbulls and some aren't. But if family can't show that they care, no wonder the public forgets. All we can do here on WS is to be the victim's voice, as you are doing for Susan. It can be very lonely and frustrating, but also satisfying too.

Hang in there!

I'm glad to see a little more discussion on this case - so frustrating that there is so little attention on Susan. I composed and sent a lengthy email to the City of Roseville Chief of Police early last week...not a word back - not even from some PR staff in the Police Department to tell me they are working on it... The accountability of our local officials whose paychecks are signed by the citizens of the community, seems so elusive, especially when it comes to Susan's case...

I know this sounds dumb but maybe try their Facebook page? I've always heard back from there pretty quickly. The answer is usually "yes we're still looking for her" but at least it's something. And yeah.. totally agree with you on the frustration!

I can see a "lengthy email" addressed to the chief of police being put on ignore. I bet nobody read it.

It's a shame if the Roseville PD only responds to Facebook posts though. That's not right. A lot of people, including me, don't use Facebook. JMO.

Since someone above (sorry...) hadn't received an answer to their lengthy email I decided to post on their Facebook page. Here's what I posted:

I am inquiring about a missing member of the Roseville community – Susan Jacobson, 59, who disappeared on May 2, 2013 at the corner of Woodcreek Oaks and Pleasant Grove Blvds. Has there been any progress in her disappearance/abduction?
Show the concerned citizens of the Roseville community and Susan some respect by at least acknowledging that a PERSON, a member of the community, has been missing for 18 months now without a trace.
Susan just has not had any movement on her case at all. Nothing. No news media, no vigils at the one year mark, no pleas for information, no searches, no help at all, from anyone. There is a sadness about Susan's case because so little was done, so little was known, and no one appeared to be looking for her. Roseville Police hasn't bothered to do anything to bring her home or to solve what happened to her or how her car got into Raley's parking lot that day. It's like everyone just forgot Susan. We didn't at Websleuths.
Hopefully there will be an update for Susan Jacobson soon!

Hopefully, someone on there will post SOMETHING!!! :gaah:

I went back to the first thread and was reading it again. Susan's car was parked further away from businesses. When she pulled up if anyone was there, she probably wouldnt have unlocked her door. Someone would have had to came out of nowhere as she was getting out. This person would have her take her wallet out and leave her purse, force her to walk with them, all while going through her wallet and removing cards and money to pitch wallet.
They forced her to go with them too, so it seems. If they wanted to rob her they would have grabbed her purse and got the heck out of there. This makes no sense at all.

also, if she really was going to go grocery shopping (and it was fairly early in the AM)...wouldn't she have parked close to the entrance of the grocery store. The parking lot would be pretty empty at that time. Unless she was known to park far away (my mom is one of those people).

I still have the sense that her car was parked there by some one else :/

Scott Thomas Anderson, editor, Roseville Press Tribune is who I had reached out to. He has written other articles about her missing. So he is familiar with the case. I hope we will see an update from him, and that he can speak with LE and get their current thoughts regarding this.

I wonder how the article is coming along... I haven't seen an update...

Here's the RPD's reply to my post...

Hello NXXX, it sounds like you're not aware of all the efforts the Roseville Police Department and the local community have made to find Mrs. Jacobson. Our department willingly committed a great deal of resources to investigate Mrs. Jacobson's disappearance. We also led several large-scale searches of open space areas in the areas where she was last seen, in which many police staff and scores of community members participated. Other community members spent a great deal of time helping by distributing flyers. Mrs. Jacobson is certainly not forgotten, and like you, we greatly hope that she will someday be found.

Well... I can reply to them that "DUH, I have followed this case from the beginning and have not heard any RECENT news on her case" - but I don't think I will. Anyone else have any response to this that would like me to reply back to them?
And by the way - if you noticed in my original post on the RPD site, I used some of your words, as they were GREAT!! LOL!

Hi Eileen. I wanted to ask you about something you posted early on. Some guy from Calabasas went missing the night before Susan did. Have you heard if he was ever found or who he was? Its post 269 in the first thread.

I googled and found this guy. Gavin Smith. I see his body was found.

I was just trying to find out who the person was to see if there could be a connection to Susans disappearance. If this is the guy though, I dont see one.

I know this is a long shot. If dementia ran in Susans family, I wonder if she was afraid it would happen to her? My mom has Alzheimer and dementia. When I misplace or forget something the fear is in the back of my mind that it could happen to me. I went through alot trying to take care of mom and I wouldn't wish that on my kids. I have told them before if I get it and know it (lol) I want to get away from them so I dont burden them. I wonder if Susan could have have some things going on that troubled her and walked away because of similiar thinking?

I think that the Roseville PD responded to this part of your post.

Roseville Police hasn't bothered to do anything to bring her home or to solve what happened to her or how her car got into Raley's parking lot that day.

They just gave you a list of what they have done in trying to find Susan.

If Susan didn't want to burden her family, why not leave her car at home?
The car was left in the parking lot with the keys missing and car unlocked with purse inside.
If Susan didn't want to burden her family, why would her wallet be found quite a distance from her car, with her credit cards missing (and Not used).
The house keys I presume are with her car keys. Why burden her family thinking that her house could be burglarized? Why burden her family with a set up to
look like she was kidnapped?
Why tell her husband EXACTLY where she was going? She did, as per the husband, as the car was found exactly where the husband said she was going to be,
But the police found the car where her husband said she said she was going to be, her husband didn't find it.

I guess a person could also look at it this way.....
Why of course someone/she didn't want to burden the family. That's why the car keys were taken, so no one could steal the car.
Why of course someone/she didn't want to burden the family. That's why the house keys (I presume) are missing, so that no one could break in the house.
Why of course someone/she didn't want to burden the family. That's why the credit cards were taken and Not Used. If the credit cards were left in her wallet,
someone could steal them and use them.

None of this makes sense to me.
Why play games?
If Susan left on her own, who was she so afraid of, not to be able to tell the truth??

If Susan left on her own to commit suicide, why hasn't her body been found?
Did Susan really leave for a better life??
Why plant the car?? Was she afraid of hurting someone's feelings that she needed to leave her marriage, so it's better for them to think someone took her??
How is THAT not hurting the family's feelings??
That just doesn't sound right....

The whole scenario doesn't make sense, unless it is for the public to think she was abducted, now would that be Susan's thoughts, or someone else's thoughts?
All Just My Opinion, Of Course.

That list that the police department gave seems, to me, to be what the police department had done in May, 2013, the early months that Susan went missing.
If the police department has had more searches other than several during those several months after Susan went missing, I haven't read about it...

I agree. A better question would be what has the Roseville PD done recently to find Susan?

Yes, Rantily, I like that word. It is better than Scantily, which I feel Susan's case is.... "scantily" discussed in MSM.

Im beginning to think she walked away!
Possibly someone picked her up! And off they drove!

Why isn't Susan seen on video? If she was picked up by someone, why aren't they on video?
Surely a car, Susan's or someone's would have been seen on video at some point.
Why isn't that information being divulged? Surely with the Quote, unquote WEALTH OF VIDEOS that the police dept. was looking at,
there has to be something, even if something is nothing, why not say it. Why not say More?

Not to mention living very close to this case and never saw a single flyer. Never saw "scores" of people searching...what's the definition of "scores"? I need to ask them if they've investigated the statistically probable suspects fully. Makes me so mad that they truly just don't care..
