Found Deceased CA - Tatiana Dugger, 18, East Oakland, 8 Jan 2021

Did she move for a new job??? I would really worry if that was the case..very worried with no contact with family as it is.

To LA, I’m not sure, could have just been a new high school grad trying their luck in the big city.
As far as Oakland, it looks like it was going to be a temporary trip which is why she booked a hotel for about a week. She was seen at the hotel for several days and went missing toward the end of her stay there. The hotel is actually down the street from my boyfriends house (Tesmecal/West Oakland). There is no visible trafficking here like in other parts of the city, but it was said she was last seen in East Oakland, in an area where there is heavy visible in your face trafficking going on.

According to the family, all of Tatiana Dugger's belongings were still in her hotel room. Her car was still at the hotel where she had been staying.

It would be interesting to know what Marco is saying about the last time he saw her. Where did she go at 2AM without her car? Does he claim that she willingly left with someone else? That would have been an excuse not to report her missing right away. Did he take her car after she was gone?

On New Year's Eve, she left her family's home in Oroville and drove to Oakland with a man.

"She left with him and went down to Oakland, so she was basically in Oakland for about a week," said her sister Savannah Moreno.

The family doesn't know much about the man she left with.

”We never knew him, we never knew him as a boyfriend, or nothing like that," Moreno said. "But you know, we aren't sure. She's 18. She could have just not told us that."

Tatiana and the man were staying at the Westwind Lodge on West MacArthur Boulevard near Broadway in Oakland.

Just posting this to point out that it says she traveled with this man from Oroville and she was staying with him at the motel in Oakland (vs just meeting him in Oakland, which I hadn’t been sure about.)

Also, thank you to @Knox for the link, showing me the reference to 2AM:
“She was seen with a man named Marcus on Friday at 2AM. She did not return to her hotel room.”
I also note the name difference here (from other reports) of the person she was with.

The areas mentioned - Oroville, Sacramento, Oakland - are substantial distances from each other. It's about 60 miles from Oroville to Sacramento and another 80 miles from there to Oakland. With a car, it's no big deal to travel from each area, but I do find it significant.

i think people are thinking too much about the moving to LA part. An 18 year old moving to LA could just mean them staying at a friends couch, many kids from smaller cities like hers move to bigger cities as soon as they are able to try their luck in all the entertainment industries or just because its LA. Though she "moved" there 3 months ago, she didn't last long and was back living in Orovillie when she traveled to Oakland with this man Marco or Marcus (I've seen both spellings) . The two big cities near Oroville, are Sacramento and Oakland and Reno. Not surprising to hear someone from Oroville would be in Oakland or Sac, or that people would be going back and forth between these cities. Though far away from each other distance wise, theres nothing in between them but small cities and towns so people gravitate to these cities. I believe the car was found in Sacramento, on a tip by Marcus (Marco). It looked to be parked in at an apartment complex (picture shown on Find Tatiana page).

Yet in another article it says, Tatianas car was found still parked at the hotel in Oakland and that family had retrieved it.

Oakland police said they did a welfare check at the motel and there were no signs of a kidnapping, foul play or evidence that she was held against her will.

Does this mean LE was in contact with her? The way it is written it appears LE reports she was fine and just didn't want to speak with family? Did they minimize family concerns? If they did have contact, did they separate her from others to interview?

When was the car recovered in Sacramento? Timelines? The coverage on this is terrible. The reporters need to step it up. She is highly vulnerable and at great risk. This is out of character and very concerning, especially with her phone/social media accounts not active.

this is pretty sus to me. she may be 18 but it seems like her fam doesnt know anything about this guy she went to oakland with. oakland isnt exactly a vacay destination. ppl local to the bay go there or u go there if u have friends and family.

It's so frustrating that there is no news about this. Wouldn't a missing 18 year old be huge news? Especially when there's someone who was clearly with her before she went missing. It doesn't seem like LE is telling the family that much more than the public.

Exactly! I can see them heading there for New Years or a Rave, but staying a week or two, with Covid closures, is a bit interesting. Most job interviews are zoom or FaceTime initially right now. Unless she had a good lead or promise or a job? No indoor dining, no bars ( she cant drink legally anyway), nail saloons, spas were all closed. I am very concerned for her. Especially because she has dropped off social media. I have 25 and 19 year olds, social media is huge.

in this particular case i think HT is a concern. i dont jump on the wagon of HT as frequently but this one is suspish.
