Found Deceased CA - Tatiana Dugger, 18, East Oakland, 8 Jan 2021

They haven't reached out to news outlets, asking for coverage. At this point they need to be doing more to advocate for her.
In my own opinion, I see it quite differently. The family is most likely hurting and also very confused as to why their daughter/sister has not been found. Keep in mind, California is a huge state, so it probably feels impossible. Additionally, I do not think the lack of news coverage has anything to do with her family's effort or lack thereof. I attribute this lack of coverage to the harsh reality that missing Black women and other POC are far more likely to be overlooked by both the media and law enforcement. Yes I'm very aware of that. Black and Indigenous girls and women are going missing and no one cares. But for my thought about media coverage, I remember them not wanting to talk to the media or give interviews in the beginning. Theres a missing young Black man who went missing under much less suspicious circumstances in the neighboring city, and his family has been moving heaven and earth for him. Theres a whole community group that has from that, after the pressure from the family, they have invested a bunch of efforts in finding him. I wish the same for Tatiana.

Bring Home Tatiana Dugger

This Saturday March 27 @ 2:00 starting from the Municipal Auditorium and circling around the downtown area , we will host Tatiana’s Walk.
Her sister Epiphany and close friends have decided to honor and support Tatiana by selling cookies with a Red Ribbon.

Tatiana’s favorite color is red. We hope you can purchase a cookie and tie the red ribbon to your keys, hang in your car or a place around town as a reminder of our beautiful sister who still has not been found.

These proceeds will go as reward money for any information pertaining to Tatiana’s whereabouts. Someone ...somewhere knows something and we need you to speak up!!!
Please if can, come out to support our sister.

No purchase of a cookie is necessary! The support of just being their and walking with us and praying for our sisters safe return is more than enough!

the lack of visibility is precisely why the family should name a spokesperson and rally and press for more MSM coverage. Need awareness and visibility. I'm not sure on the line between oversaturation and too little, but I think there's probably too little at the moment. This walk/event is a good step.

DBM...

Yikes. Was so hopeful after listening to that podcast.

Her sister was a phenomenal advocate for her.

Am I right in saying that’s a long way from Oakland? 287 miles away?

Location where Tatiana was found :( Google Maps
That is a looooooooooooooong way from Oakland (almost 300 miles). I'm guessing she resisted being "put to work" by whoever was holding her. Sacramento was probably on the circuit.

ETA:

Beans - Get out of my head. lol
It's actually over 300 miles if toll roads were avoided. Hopefully whoever was responsible for this wasn't sharp enough to stay off of toll roads.

I think it's kinda weird that Oroville (where Tatiana had been visiting family) is almost exactly halfway in between Oakland and where her body was discovered. Did anybody actually see Tatiana in Oakland? ...or did her car, belongings and phone make the trip without her? Just because her things were in a hotel room doesn't mean she was ever there.

On New Year's Eve, she left her family's home in Oroville and drove to Oakland with a man.

"She left with him and went down to Oakland, so she was basically in Oakland for about a week," said her sister Savannah Moreno.

Tatiana's mother last spoke to her for about an hour on Jan. 7, and "everything seemed fine," Moreno said.

Tatiana's Honda Accord was found in the Sacramento area, her sister said. But her phone and other items are still missing.

So we have Tatiana leaving Oroville and driving to Oakland. Then her car is found 80 miles from Oakland in Sacramento, her body is found 280 miles from Oakland in Weed? That's all over the map! Is Weed a hub for anything by chance? I'm not well versed on that stuff.

If her Mom spoke to her on January 7th I would say she was at least alive until then. Is it too much to hope there may be video surveillance of some sort from the Weed area between January 7th & January 20th?

This remote location must be familiar to her killer, or whoever dumped her body.
Juniper Terrace goes to two small communities, both are are filled with marijuana grow properties.
If you follow the road and look at the two community grids, then zoom in, you will clearly see the marijuana plots. You can see the plots and greenhouses at many, if not most, of the homes on google maps.

If you turn off 99 onto Juniper Terrace and drive to the end, you will be at a second entrance/exit on the “99-97 cutoff”.
The other thing out this way is Pluto’s Cave, exploring the cave is another possibility that could have made this location familiar to someone.

Her body was found on US forest land, I think that means probably on the east side of the freeway, JMO.
There are places you can pull off the road and park by the trail to the lava hills.

This is the turnoff to Juniper Terrace, you would have to know this area to dump a body out here. JMO

Humboldt and Mendocino counties aka "The Emerald Triangle" are so lousy with murder (and Marijuana businesses) that they have their own subforum here. Siskiyou is just North of there but certainly close enough to strongly suspect the legal-but-still-very-shady California Marijuana cultivation business was at least tangentially related to the case. If there was no electronic trail to establish this "Marcus" person's identity I would presume he was a street criminal she met while living in LA who then enticed her back down for a visit and disposed of her when he was done, perhaps she had given him the impression that she was less connected with her family than she actually was. Hopefully law enforcement will up the stakes and locate him now that her death is confirmed. They may wait for the medical examiner's report though. Three months is kind of a long time, I don't know what weather has been like in NorCal.
