The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
Terri Rayburn was last seen leaving the Blues Café on the Promenade in Downtown Long Beach on April 28, 1996.
This is my sister. I was 18 when she went missing and had always assumed that my family had opened a missing person case. It is shocking how little information there is out there. I have nothing beyond the information that is listed in the missing person report. I have, however, contacted The Vanished podcast and they too are surprised how little information there is. I have supplied them with every name and phone number I could think of in relation to her around the time of her disappearance. I created my account because I googled her this afternoon and the site came up.
I recently spoke with my niece, Terri’s daughter, and she said that she spoke with the woman who was her best friend that the time of the disappearance She mentioned a man’s name that has never come up before.
My niece was able to track down the man’s phone number and contacted him. He said he barely knew Terri but the information that my niece had gotten from the best friend was very different. She said he and Terry were highly involved with each other. I will post more as I find out more.
Hi Valerie, welcome and I'm so sorry about your sister's disappearance. Just curious if this man has been questioned by police? Good luck in your search and please keep us updated. She was able to give me the name of the man but Terri’s best friend at the time said she had been spending a lot of time with.
Terri is my mother. We don’t really know much.Wow there is so little information about this missing case.
I’m seeing nothing at all. No articles, nothing.
Are there any Facebook pages or family posting about this case??
Terri is my mother. We don’t really know much.
I hope you and your nieces get answeres and justice. Thanks for that information. I will follow the process.
Like I said, by the time of her disappearance I was 18 years old. I was living in the Pacific Northwest and had gone to Long Beach to visit with her. It was just a few months after I returned home that I found that she hadn’t been seen or heard from him in quite some time.
Being quite a bit younger than her, 10 years, and living out of state I wasn’t privy to a lot of what was going on in her personal life. I know that she and her husband had separated and he had primary custody of her two girls. The girls would see her on the weekends in her apartment.
As for her day-to-day life, I don’t know if she had a job, I don’t know who she was friends with or anything like that.
I just spoke with my niece, her oldest daughter, who I think was about six or seven when she went missing. She was able to give me the name of the man but Terri’s best friend at the time said she had been spending a lot of time with. I have to review the rules of the form before I posted the information.
I have included pictures of Terri with her best friend Bridget as well as a picture of me and Terri on her wedding day.
