The two brothers took their own children (so that would make them way older than 18 now, 5 years later I would think).
It was a custody thing it looks like at first glance, not for purpose of abuse.

I think this is one that LAPD just got right. They jumped on it quickly and called in every available resource they could, immediately. Nice to see LE not letting egos, politics and jurisdictions get in the way and only caring about what's best for the missing.

they said they had a "bad feeling" about this right away. I did too.

I like this " detective'? Smith that's talking. Very clear and easy to understand and also you can feel HIS urgency. He's totally into this case and a great LE spokesperson, imho. Not that this matters, but we don't always get someone so easy to understand as our spokesperson !
