I started watching Murder Mountain on Netflix. Anyone missing in this area is extremely concerning after watching this.

Indeed. That’s why there is a whole forum dedicated to “The Emerald Triangle.” Here are links to the Humboldt portion as well as the Murder Mountain Netflix series thread. My husband and I used to live there and binge-watched it the other night. I highly recommend it.

I hope Troy’s disappearance was not connected to anybody involved in growing or selling weed. It’s so dangerous!

Welcome @watsonyrmind! Good first post. The combo of "left wallet/cell phone behind" PLUS "doesn't know where his child lives" EQUALS very sad possibilities to me.

Keep up the productive sleuthing please ... Troy's case needs it.

On Sunday, May 12, 2019 at approximately 4:20 p.m., a local survey crew found skeletal remains in the wooded fields near Campton and Walnut Streets also known as the McKay Tract. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to the area. The HCSO conducted an investigation and found identification and clothing belonging to missing person Troy Wigington.

Wigington, 44, of Eureka was reported as missing on December 14, 2018 by his family. The next of kin were contacted by the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy was performed. There were no signs of foul play.

I am so sad to learn his body was discovered but at least the family can have some small semblance of closure.

The article linked above states "autopsy was performed. There are no signs of foul play." I really hope we eventually get more information. Did he complete suicide as the wife mentioned he was suicidal? Did he die of exposure? Honestly, there are very few causes of death in this case that I would feel fully support the assertion that there was no foul play.

I am disappointed that it appears LE aren't looking into his death more and I sincerely hope they have good reason for that.

RIP Troy
